That's even more incredible. Imagine him saying "GREAT SCOTT!"

Dolph Lundgren is Doc Brown

Jean Claude Van Damme is Marty McFly

Cynthia Rothrock is Lorraine McFly

Bruce Willis is George McFly

Terry Crews is Goldie Wilson (role to be greatly expanded)

Jason Statham is Mr. Strickland

Randy Couture is Red

Sylvester Stallone is all three of Biff's Goons (via special effects)

Arnold Schwarzenegger is Biff Tannen

and Huey Lewis returns as "I'm afraid you're just too darn loud."

Original Music by Alan Silvestri (it's really the score from PREDATOR)

Directed by John McTiernan

This is how remakes should be done.

Given that the movie is rated PG-13 in the United States and I haven't heard about there being any explicit versions that will play elsewhere in the world, it means that you shouldn't expect any Kate Beckinsale nudity.

Me, what I did today was that I returned to that Wawa. This time I ordered up some food. The ordering is done via a touchscreen display. I got a hoagie (what they call their sub sandwiches) that was 6 inches-insert your own jokes-and it was only 2 bucks. I also got a drink; it was a Sierra Mist with a shot of cherry; pretty tasty, both items.

Before that, I went to yet another MovieStop I hadn't been at before. I got some DVD's that were due to my hormones but you don't need to know about that... what I will admit to getting includes National Lampoon's Senior Trip as the few times I've seen it I've laughed, and plus there's the lead teenager being the debuting Jeremy Renner. There's also a double feature of Cloak & Dagger (I saw it a few years ago and it still holds up from the days I dug it as a kid) and the infamous Nintendo commercial known as The Wizard. I saw it as a kid but I imagine I'll think it's crap as an adult.

Oh, and Hunter will greatly enjoy this... I got Dice Rules! I've only seen a few minutes of it in the past and the incredibly vulgar jokes made me laugh, I am not afraid to admit it.

Jox posted a video that dealt with a reality show that Dolph will be hosting and HE DRIVES THE DELOREAN!

Sounds like you got quite the haul of movies. The Wizard aka ARGH HE TOUCHED MY BREAST! Aka California! really is a shit movie. I never saw it as a kid, and saw it a few years ago. It's worth it solely for all the Nintendo product on display.

Senior Trip is hilarious and I proudly own the dvd. I remember the trailer being attached to the tape of Dumb And Dumber.

Saw Bad Taste and Ghost In the Machine earlier. Bad Taste is a good first effort for Peter Jackson even though it's pretty slow in parts. It does feature a car that has The Beatles as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band as cardboard cutouts a disguise for the real driver doing the driving from much farther back in the car. John Lennon is in the driver's seat!

Ghost In The Machine is like a slasher version of The Lawnmower Man. With Chris Mulkey and Karen Allen as the leads. It has some inventive deaths. A guy gets microwaved to death (it's pretty brutal), and another guy HAS A HAND DRYER TURN INTO A FLAME THROWER.

I don't really get the deal with Nolan being held in such high regard either. I really like Memento and Insomnia a lot, as well as Batman Begins, but other than that, the rest are a mixed bunch for me, and I still haven't seen The Prestige yet, but Inception didn't wow me greatly, and the 2 Dark Knight films, well, I don't have to explain my thoughts on them.

Wow. One of the weirdest exploitation films I've ever seen! Plot: A Diana Ross-like superstar decides to drive across the country on her vacation, and ends up breaking down at some out-of-the-way town in the boonies. She ends up staying in a cabin owned by Shelley Winters and what is supposed to be one night turns into a week of hell that includes sexual slavery to a crazy shitkicker wannabe country singer named Eddie, and a forced blow job from a slime who she thought was a ride to Atlanta, (No easy escape), and a breakfast, courtesy of Eddie, of pet dog. Eddie, being crazy, ignores her complaints/accusations (no help from Sheriff Slim Pickens) of rape, and drags her to the justice of the peace to be married; a wedding that in a climatic final sequence turns into a Peckinpah-esque blood bath. Verdict: An unusual film, that has a cult, it's worth checking out if you're looking for something a little out there. There's a sense of nightmarish insanity (think more out there and creepy than 2000 MANIACS) about the whole thing, and kooky performances abound. The movie is just nuts, and even tho I felt like taking a shower afterwards, that's the basis of its charm.

Updated contents for the EX2 R rating

The Expendables 2
Action LGF 8/17/12 R strong violence, language and brief sexuality.

That last bit worries me considering Track 'Em, Find 'Em, Kill 'Em lists Lee Christmas' liking of women as weakness.

Also on Track 'Em, Find 'Em, Kill 'Em's list of weaknesses apparently Gunnar Jensen is autistic.

Just read the Dark Horse Comics adaptation of Robocop 3, and that Toxic Avenger issue I got. The Robocop 3 comic is pretty much the same storywise, except for the fact that Rip Torn's character is BOB MORTON'S DAD. The Toxic Avenger comic was hilarious and absurd as it featured THE TOXIC AVENGER RAPPING FOR THE ENTIRE ISSUE. It was him rapping the entire story, and it dealt with him being abducted by aliens who needed his help. Never thought I'd run across a comic like that.

Here's the cover.

As I've said a few times before, nothing will beat seeing Don Knotts driving a DeLorean in an episode of Matlock.

Hey, I wouldn't mind seeing one of those BIG ASS MOTHERFUCKERS have his way with a nubile young lady for at least a brief moment.

I can't say I ever got the idea of Gunnar being autistic. Sounds like an odd way of explaining his hardass and difficult manner. I'll ignore it as I doubt it'll mean anything to the sequel.

That retconning makes me laugh, at least. But, what a terrifying comic cover. It was obviously created by a bunch of tremendously white dudes. Just looking at the phrases they used... tremendously white, even back in '91. I imagine it's hilarious. It would be like if my parents (both in their 60's, and a dad that thinks Snoop Dogg is "Snoop Snoopy Dogg") tried doing such a thing today.

I am also trying to figure out why the cover features a fancily-dressed Estelle Getty and an accordion-sporting Laura Dern.

I didn't even think to ask him, but that's the kind of stuff you'd want to discuss later after the film has come out. His judgment on this one might biased anyway (like with ROCKY IV) because he likes his character so much and is so grateful to his mentor Sly to be in THE EXPENDABLES (making history)... so even in 15 years I'm not sure he'd be able to trash it in anyway whereas it's easier for him doing it with disappointing projects he's starring in... I can tell you he didn't like the previous version of the EX2 script and had Sly punched it (his character and the whole story) to sign for it.

His natural shyness (and low self-esteem?) from his younger years is never too far away and he really sees Sly and Arnold as out of his league, plus I'm not sure he's so comfortable with 4,000 fans audience. CONFESSION: I own Clifford on DVD. And much like your cousin, I rented it more than once as a kid.

This was one of my Fail Draft picks (so was RoboCop 3!) and for good reason: it's a completely apeshit movie that, for whatever reason, I find a lot to laugh at in. The fact that not one character has a lick of sympathetic traits to them is kind of brilliant for a "kid's" movie.

Funniest part in the whole movie: hands down, Short paying that fat kid for his dinosaur suit so that he can hitch a ride to the place. Criticize it all you want, but to have a 30-something man as a scheming 10-year-old boy actually does take time, effort, and thought to pull off. Which this does.

Another "Bad Movie We Love" from Rupert Pupkin - Respect the Swayze:

Black Dog (1998)

After Swayze’s death, I noticed the lack of clips fromBlack Dog in all those video tributes. That’s too bad, as this has Swayze chewing scenery with abandon. Can you blame him? He has to compete with the likes of Meatloaf and Stephen Tobolowsky. This movie checks almost all of the boxes on the ‘So bad it’s good’ survey form.  It may be the last of a dying breed: a trucksploitation B-movie that actually got a theatrical release.  If you like vehicular destruction, this is the movie for you. It many ways, it is a spiritual sequel toRoadhouse and would make an excellent double bill

It's mentioned with a QUESTION MARK ? Basically Gunnar is an enigma...

And not as just autistic but as "autistic savant" meaning that must have his moments of genius attitude where he can solve a difficult math problem or equation or something like that, I remember Sly mentioned something about that idea a while ago...

Well, concerning Driver, the story is that he has Asperger Syndrome, which is different from regular autism. I won't delve into all the differences but basically Aspy's (what some of them call themselves) are more talkative... they're just socially awkward, so sometimes they're "selectively mute" rather than being mute quite often as is usually the case with people that have autism.

Today I went to Walmart and as it was only 10 bucks, I decided to get Stash House. I realize most people here disliked it but I hope to at least get some enjoyment out of Dolph... not to mention, the girl oogling factor. I've probably done enough of that this week so I'll have to watch it another time.

Have Refn and Gosling actually gone on-record and said the Driver has Aspergers, though?  If so, then that character becomes more interesting... even if nailing down a behavioral explanation might take away from some of the enigmatic aspects, in a narrative sense.

It's not my intention to say that any such condition of this kind would lessen the drama or the accomplishments of the character (or Gunner Jensen's possible autism in the Expendables films).  As a writer, myself, I just wonder how much of it is actually the intention of the filmmakers and how much is people reading deeper into the material than the makers intended.  It's a tough line to walk.  If something's explained too much, there's little-to-no mystery.  And if there's not enough explanatory detail and too much is left to the imagination, you get Prometheus.

Regardless of any conditions, both the Driver and Gunner Jensen are two of my favorite action characters of the last five years.  They kick much ass, and if they are in fact doing so while working through autism or aspergers then more power to them.  :)

Thank christ.  When I was trying to justify Drive to the people who watched it with me (and hated it) I answered "well he didn't say much, or show much" by going "well, it's almost like he's borderline autistic or aspergers, look at the way he reacts to things, he can only really open up and smile at the kid, he's got no social skills..."

to which I got the response "you think about these things too much".

So, nice to know I'm not the only one :)

I have Machete Kills news I just discovered via Twitter. Sad to say this is news that we won't be cheering. You see, playing a character named La Chameleon will be...

LADY GAGA

I wish I was joking but I am not. Sigh... and I actually like some of her songs, which is more than I can say about most Top 40 music the past few years. Yet her God-awful wannabe "controversial" persona is a real turn-off and this news isn't a positive to me.

I did just see the news was posted on the main page as I was typing this, but I just had to mention this here as soon as I could.

I'm not that put off by her ripping off Grace Jones. I'll say I'm GAGA over this casting announcement.

Too bad she isn't rolling back on the blond locks and outrageous persona. Just look at her before, and tell me she doesn't have you wanting to start combing your hair.

I thought of the perfect way to describe the character of Eddie today: a psychosexual Jim Varney.

Tonite: I have the Noir masterpiece (and big Scorsese influence) MURDER BY CONTRACT from Netflix.

I want to be excited about MACHETE KILLS, but between the first one and the more I hear about the second I worry that Rodriguez is just gonna camp it up again.

Is Cuba Gooding in this? I see his name listed in some of the stories online about Gaga, have we heard this before?

Edit: Now I read that Gooding may have originally had the role that Gaga is playing. Too bad, would rather see Cuba.

I can't remember, did you not like the first one at all, Molt?

Some aspects I enjoyed. Seagal's bits were great and Fahey upstaged everyone. Beyond that it just devolved into a tired farce.

If anyone is close to a Fry's, the just released OUTLAND Blu will be available for $7.99 there starting Friday.

Wasn't crazy about Machete. Hopefully Trejo isn't a guest star in his own movie this time around, but it doesn't look that way. I don't need so many WACKY GUEST STARS, Robert Rodriguez. And don't film so many scenes in the abandoned parking lot you own.

More importantly, today I decided to TRADE UP and replace my Road Warrior dvd with a blu ray. I decided to do this after seeing this picture from the set of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

I hope that first picture means we're having a Humungus type character again, and he gets loquacious and starts having speeches. Another AYATOLLAH OF ROCK N ROLLA!

Finished up OZ: Season 5, and due to an error with the seller I bought it from, I got a refund on Season 6, and just now placed an order this time on Half.com instead of Amazon for season 6, since this person is in Texas, and I should get it soon. It's not like I haven't seen season 6, all of this is a revisit anyway. One of the aspects I love about the show is that certain characters who were just back ground fodder end up having major arcs, or at least figure heavily in one episode. Plus PETER CRISS has a 2 episode arc where he pretends to be a witness to a crime, and then gets stabbed in the neck (and survives) with a pencil by a crazy THOMAS G. "WINDOWS" WAITES.

Now I'm watching the Criterion Blu-ray of Repulsion by Roman Polanski. Last time I saw this it was on vhs in 2004, and I saw it with my Dad. Stars the lovely Catherine Deneuve, and the awesome and died before his time, Ian Hendry.

Gonna try to view some of these Italian crime flicks that are leaving Netflix next week. Finished up LIVE LIKE A COP, DIE LIKE A MAN. That was a, that was a something alright. Those two played by their own rules, no doubt about it.

Why didn't that lady give up her handbag? That was some grip.

I'm gonna try to get through some of the Italian crime films, too. Probably next one up for me is RULERS OF THE CITY.

MURDER BY CONTRACT lived up to its reputation. A great B Noir. Check it out.

Another heads up: NO ESCAPE is only up for a few more days. Wasn't a fan of it back in the day, but I want to give it another shot.

I'm watching The Italian Connection right now on Netflix Instant. Mostly because it has Femi Benussi in it, but I'm being pleasantly surprised by it. Henry Silva and Woody Strode are New York mobsters in Italy to dispense some New York brutality (including hitting a guy in the teeth with the barrel of a revolver!) and a Thunderball reunion with Adolpho Celi and Luciana Paluzzi. I'm digging it so far. Hunter was right too. The lead slimeball does look like a beefier Bruce Campbell with some righteous sideburns and mustache.

Oh yeah, and I did one of those "Which character in The Dark Knight Rises are you?" app games on facebook and well, I'm very pleased with the results.

I did that same game. Ended up as Matthew Modine. I'm fine with it.

I'm just happy I get to be Liam Neeson!
