They should have employed the classic ploy of using a dirty trick to severely wound the hero before the fight, thus evening up the odds.

I'll say that I did enjoy when Castle and Saint meet up at the end and Travolta says "You killed my son." Then there's a scream from the building and the sound of an explosion and without missing a beat Jane perfectly replies "Both of them."

That was an awesome action one-liner. Also:

Candelaria: Vaya con Dios, Castle. Go with God.
Frank Castle: God's going to sit this one out.

Too bad they didn't have the budget to set this back in the 70's and completely adapt The Punisher: Year One storyline. The whole end of the film at Howard Saints Building is like the end of that particular comic, and the villain of the piece Billy Russo becomes another villain. Spoiler: Jigsaw.

This would have perfectly set it up for the sequel, but I heard that Billy Russo is taking the place of Nicky Cavella from the MAX line, in the sequel. Nicky Cavella would be a really great villain for the punisher to face down the line, as evidenced in his appearances in the first max miniseries "In The Beginning", which I heard is the basis for the sequel, and the one that should be turned into a sequel in its own right "Up Is Down Black Is White".

I watched a bit of this last night.  Pretty fun.  I didn't remember much aside from that opening explosion.  But I just wanted to mention that this movie has a scene where Halle Berry is basically lynched.  Messed up!  But I guess it's okay since it was allllllll an act!
