Organizing DVD's

So how do you folks organize your DVD's at home? Do you do it by director? By year of release? Or alphabetical? And do you put your TV series boxsets in with your movies? Or separate?

I keep my TV shows separate; same with my Criterions. My Eastwood, Michael Mann and Scorsese films all go together on a separate shelf.

I put them all on a shelf. Most of my TV sets are together. I group like movies, like RR's Mariachi trilogy, the View Askew movies, LOTR etc... But stuff that isn't part of a trilogy or whatever just goes wherever there is a space.
