Some notes:

--Interesting to see how this show was touted as being 'chaotic' and 'changing the channel for you' when it first aired. Compared to stuff like 'CSI' today, it seems positively languid.

--Edwards/Greene. Probally my favorite character along with Carter. Edwards was exactly the right guy to anchor the show, he's one of the few I believe as a doctor.

--Clooney/Ross. From the first episode on, it's clear he's operating at "movie star" level while everyone else is merely "tv star" level. It's fun to watch Ross beat on abusive parents, but he also does the whole 'cad' thing really well and I found myself yelling at the tv when he screwed up.

--Love's Labor Lost. Sad, but not the heartrending tragedy I'd heard it was. Also, very hard to see Brad Whitford as anything other than Josh, especially when he incorporates so many of his Josh mannerisms into this.

--Blizzard. The best episode of the season. I love how the best moment in it, where Benton tells the young kid he'll make a surgeon out of him, is thrown away. And the 'prep' sequence is amazing.

--Dr. William Swift. One of my favorite supporting characters played by cult favorite Michael Ironside. Ironside is great as the tough but sympathetic Doc and has some pretty good scenes with Anthony Edwards.

--Dr. Morgenstern. Interesting to see Macy before he exploded with Fargo. There are also a few scenes where you can sort of hear the 'Mamet' rhythms coming in, especially in the famous "You set the tone" monologue in the pilot.
