I want to know what films your looking forward to this year. BRING IT!

Me?

PULSE (not sure why other than I really dig the original)
SLITHER
2001 MANIACS
MORTUARY
SILENT HILL

But I'm adding FIDO and IN SEARCH OF LOVECRAFT. I also really hope that FEAST gets the theatrical release that it deserves.

Slither
Pans Labyrinth
Mad Cowgirl
Silent Hill
Grindhouse
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-Prequel
The Hills Have Eyes

I listed only horror films, for I assumed it was the unspoken theme of this thread.

Read a review for MORTUARY on AITH. The arrow gave it only 1/2 bullet (first in a long time), saying it was abysmal. 2001 Maniacs got a big thumbs up though, so I'm geeked about that.

Slither and Silent Hill are also definites on my must see list as well.

Headspace
Fear of Clowns (got it at home! gotta watch it)
Hard Candy
City of Rott

Yeah and like Death Surge I was interested in Mortuary until I read that review. Not that I'm a huge fan of Hooper (his films have been all over the place) but I was hoping for something good.

SILENT HILL. And HOSTEL, which comes out here soon.

I'm eager to see the next Rob Zombie splatterpiece, but I don't know when that'll be.

Man! I want to see that... My directing partner shot a trilogy of short films (really crappy but with potential) here called 'To Clown and To Cleave'. So I wanted to see if it was worth us refining.

Hills Have Eyes and Slither are the only ones I'm eagerly anticipating right now.
An aside- Speaking as an uptight father, I'm pretty shocked at the gruesome ads I see for Hills during early evening television.

OT, but while on the subject of Clowns...There's been rumors of an adaption of Clive Barker's short "Dread" forever. Anyone hear anything factual regarding this lately? That story screams "Film Me" loudly.

at the moment, a toss up between:
the fountain
a scanner darkly

and of course, the great films that come out of nowhere that surprise me

Isn't that the one where the antagonist locks a mild mannered/sane guy up for weeks of torture, just to observe his descent into homicidal madness, and the jailor keeps having visions/dreams of a clownlike murderer ascending the stairs in the middle of the night to hack his ass up in the end? If this is the same short story, I too have thought this would make a good horror film. Perhaps a chapter for an anthology piece would work best.

Not exactly, but that's the jist of it. SPOILERS: The main lead has a Coulrophobia obsession with axe murdering clowns. He's also a Psych major, and his obsession leads hum to find ways to make people confront their fears. Cue twist ending after taking one of his close friends past the edge. Reads like a screenplay and done properly, could really be an excellent film.
