Catching up on movies I've missed ( minnie reviews )

Posting 2 movies per post here are the movies I have missed recently, that I needed to catch up on.

1. Monster = A truly superb movie with superb acting from both Theron and Ricci especially Theron. I've found myself very involved with the characters and the film itself. Truly remarkable.

My review **** out of **** stars

2. Million Dollar baby = another winner with superb acting from every body. A great film with a heart breaking ending.

My review **** out of **** stars.

There's an EDIT function, you know. There's no need to do this besides your attempt at fattening your post count.

When can we expect your mini review of Terminator 2 and Riders of the Lost Ark?

Why bother posting two movies per post? Why not just one? You'd already have 4 posts more by now.

What the fuck is it with people on this board and Rachel McAdams? She is really a long way from being a "knock out". Plus she has nipple hair.

She's a pretter version of Jennifer Garner.

Cry wolfe = Definitley the sleeper out of the films that I have disgussed so far. I think the probelem was the marketing of the film. It was being marketed toward the slasher audience. This movie IS NOT A SLASHER MOVIE, it is a keep you guessing intelectual thriller with a quite pleasent ending.

My favorite quote from the film.

"Everbody's playing checkers...and I'm playing Chess."

My review ***1/2 out of **** stars.

Diary of a mad Black woman = Boy is this film thereputic! ***1/2 out of **** stars!

I refuse to believe you can watch One Hour Photo, Something's Gotta Give, Girl Interrupted, The Mexican and Beyond The Sea in just six minutes.

Of course, I also have trouble believing that Cry Wolf is a "keep you guessing intelectual thriller".

Your parents need to take your internet priveliges away.

This thread really had made my day.

Keep on keeping on Spike1983!! There's an almost zen aesthetic to your reviews that's really compelling. You're like an implacable, tight lipped Gene Shalit. Bless you. You've brightened my mid-afternoon considerably.

What did you thing of Das Boot?

Edited to add: These typos are all genuine, but whereas I'd normally catch and correct them, I'm going to leave them in place so as not to "harsh" this thread's ebullient "mellow."

Are you going to see Das Boot, though?? It's definitely worth the three hours.

And also, I don't mean to be rude Spike, but I sort of have a criticism about your reviewing style. I'll try to make it as succinct and constructive as possible. You're definitely establishing your own gestalt, as it were, but I feel like you're sort of hedging you r bets. It's the half stars you dole out.

I get the idea, but I feel like it sort of undercuts the austerity of your established aesthetic. Also, it significantly increases the length of your reveiws, which could discourage increased readership.

Are you going to review Yes Nurse, No Nurse; or Hawaii, Oslo (a really interesting film, I thought)? I would give both of those movies a number of stars, but not the same number for each. I also wouldn't use 1/2 stars to soften my stance on the films (no offense).

Suspicion Confirmed! Spike1983 IS Anyname.

The Proof? The above last post by Spike1983 I remember as posted by Anyname yesterday at 3:03PM. Apparently, upon spotting the mistep of using the wrong username for a reply, He edited the response today at 4:05PM to "delete", and then reposted it as Spike1983 a scant 3 Minutes later.

I feel strangely vindicated for my suspicion, although I can't for the life of me think of any reason why I would care. Must be the last beer I had....

If you're going to post, that's fine. But don't tease us by posting in this thread and not telling us what you thought of The Quarrel or No. 1 of Her Majesty's Secret Service (which, by the way, I would give 4 asterisks out of a possible 4). No half measures for me.

Seriously, anyname, what is wrong with you? Do you have some kind of mental illness?
