This has been bugging me for a few months, but fabfunk's latest masterpiece is the last straw.....

In theory, the Sex Forum should be more Loveline, less rotten.com. It certainly started out that way. Liberal nudity, with a few actually interesting articles and threads thrown in for good measure.

At the moment, however, despite Diva's sincerest efforts to turn it into the Internet's leading source of celebrity n00dz, there's very little separating it from the email I got last night about my penis disappearing forever because there's not enough horse porn in my life.

I wouldn't so much call this a call to shut the forum down so much as a call for something/someone to justify that forum's existence besides dead pornstar eulogies and seeing Carmen Electra naked for the 18,376th time.

Either way, something's got to change. Banning fabfunk from it would be a start.

If that can't be done...well, I'd be lying if I said I'd shed that many tears over never seeing another thread dedicated to Peter North's ejaculatory prowess.

Well, couldn't we just maintain guidelines? It's not like I'm going around the Sex Forum posting sick shit whenever I like.

I think we're all civilized enough to clean it up on their own. I didn't realize my thread would have that kind of affect, and I'm sorry, fellas.

Let's establish the taste guidelines, give it a month, and if there's only minimal traffic after that, we close the forum.

Personally, I'm not even sure there should be a Sex forum. It's not like it's hard to find porn on the internet, and I'd much rather not have any evidence - visual or anecdotal - of some of the more vocal morons around here participating in such acts or, god help us, actually breeding. But I guess it's Nick's call.

No. He's as much as a dick away from the sex forums as he is in it, so he matches Wetbones speed for speed. At least Wetbones decided to go and find somewhere where he could discuss graphic rape in peace, at least I assume he left for the Dread Central forums.

Well, a moderator who has a presence would be a start. As kitty recently got married, her attentions are needed elsewhere. She PM'd me before she disappeared to keep posting in the Sex Forum, so I throw up some n00dz every now and then. Personally, I don't care if the forum stays or goes.

I'm with you on this on Diva. I could moderate the forum, I view just about every thread posted on the boards, but I could easily care less if the forum stays or goes. People are pretty good at posting NSFW warnings in the thread titles in the other areas.

Actually, with the overall intelligence with the rest of the boards, yeah, that is what I'd expect. Obviously though, it's not going to happen. I definitely would not miss the sex forum. It's out of place, and seems to be nothing but a weirdo and shill magnet.

When the forum first started, that's exactly what happened. People talked honestly and openly about sexual likes, dislikes, first experiences, etc. Then it turned into posting n00dz of celebs and at some point it turned into posting n00dz of Chewers -- CHUD Boobies thread, woo hoo! -- showing the naivety of many Chewers who thought CHUD was our little secret. The forum took a very sharp turn when people started posting disgusting video links (forget Tubgirl or Goatse, the girl shooting eels out her cootch and the vomit porn is forever burned in my soul). I am truly sorry that I ever participated in those threads. The recent crop of necrophilia threads is really just fucking creepy. I'm not sure that the Forum can be salvaged. With the snarkiness of most Chewers these days, any sincere talk of sex will end up with Chewers derailing the thread with snide comments. I say shut 'er down.

I don't think that's true. I've participated in a few threads that were started and executed maturely and intelligently and they never got derailed. I think that's still possible. But really, it doesn't matter to me one way or another.
