Is it just me, or am I hearing a lot of Shit's on cable lately?

I'm watching Lethal Weapon here on TNT at 1am and I notice something that I have been kind of noticing a lot lately, which is that I am hearing the word SHIT. The strange thing is that some of the shit's aren't censored, yet some of them are. Also, they didn't bother editing out the full-on ass shot of Mel Gibson at all. Are things just getting more lenient late at night or what.

TBS and TNT have gotten a lot more lenient on what they'll let through now. Even during the daytime they'll air The Last Boyscout and leave in "shit." They still cut the movie to hell, but its progress I guess.

"Oh, and you got some shit on your face...."

I've heard "bullshit" get through quite a lot lately, but maybe because that word has taken on such an accepted meaning they don't feel it's vulgar anymore.

But good god, Smokey and the Bandit is still nigh unwatchable on broadcast TV. Half of Jackie Gleason's performance sounds like it was dubbed over by Fred Flintstone (which is odd, because I thought "son of a bitch" got a pass these days).

I think that alot of networks are over the whole "Wardrobe Malfunction" debacle from a few years ago. I noticed that you are seeing alot more profanity getting through.

I was watching Road Trip on TBS yesterday (HEY, There was nothing else on and I had nowhere to go) and noticed that they let some words slide, Tom Greens ass, a vibrator onscreen etc etc.....

Remember for a while when they were blurring Stewie Griffins cartoon ass?

a&e showed murderball relatively uncut with bleeping of only fucks, all the shits came through loud and clear...and they rated the movie as a tv-pg with an L subtitle.

Shit was on the show in other places than the song performance. It used to be the "unbetween word"... you could say it on higher cable network shows... now it's let through on the major ones.
