Vote for the cover of Brisco County Jr.

TVShowsonDVD.com is running another "vote for the cover" thing again but this time for The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.:

I don't really like either of them so I'm having hard time choosing.

They're both awful covers, but the fact that Brisco County Jr. is coming to dvd is awesome.
I vote for the second picture, but the first background.

Or that picture above, whatever the hell that is.
The second picture is much better. I'm just happy that this is coming to DVD--I loved this show as a kid.
I always enjoyed Brisco. I have most of the episodes on VHS. Does this mean we can expect a Jack of All Trades dvd soon too?
Jack of All Trades??

Man, no offence, but I can only hope not. Indeed, both covers look bad. I hope there's commentaries with Brisco and Socrates and the sexy lady who ended up being on that really bad fox vampire show with C. Thomas Howell, of all people.

The show they had in mind when they came up with the word "dreck," methinks.

Sweet. I loved Brisco County, Jr. When I worked for the cable company, my Friday night at work included being at my desk in time to watch Brisco and The X-Files. It's nice to work for a company where they put a TV that you "must" monitor at all times.

And yeah, both of those covers are crapola. #1 looks like Campbell is going, "Hey look at me! I'm on a DVD cover!"

Brisco County, Jr. finally on DVD! Well alright. I hated Jack of all Trades too, but, I must admit, I did get a kick out of it's theme song and opening credits.

Oh joy! Yeah!

This is totally good news and now I'm going to go vote...

Looking at those covers, I kept thinking that something important is missing. Then it hit me. They need to put Comet in there with Brisco.

I went with the second one. I can't believe how terrible both these covers are.
DOOM prefers the second, but is upset at the lack of John Astin on these covers.
Lord Bowler got screwed over on both counts.
I am indifferent to packaging, but I would go with the second cover.
I am going to pre order this as soon as possible.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say as well. His expression is too goofy in the first picture, and the collage background of the second just doesn't fit.
Ktak nailed it. I picture an image of Brisco on Comet, with Bowler and Socrates in the background. And hell, throw the orb in there somewhere too.
I think the second one would do a better job of converting non-Brisco fans, which should be the main concern, since we all know us Brisco fans will snap it up anyway.
If the second photo was on the background of the first cover, I'd like that even more.

I vote for that one.

That rocks. Send it into Warner, Jason!

Adventures of Brisco County Jr., The - Brisco date, art and tons of extras!
Posted by Gord Lacey

3/27/2006

First we had rumors, then we had news that it was being considered for release by Warner Bros, followed by early information on the set, and the ability to vote for your favorite DVD artwork, but this news item is so much better than all the rest; a real date for the set.

That's right, Warner Bros will release the complete series, all 28 TV hours worth (26 episodes and a 2 hour pilot - 1260 mins), on July 18. The set, which is a whopping 8 discs, will retail for $99.98. Of course a Bruce Campbell release wouldn't be complete without bonus material, and Warner Bros doesn't disappoint:

* Pilot episode commentary with star Bruce Campbell and creator Carlton Cuse
* Brisco's "Book of Coming Things" interactive menu of signature references from the series narrated by Bruce Campbell
* A Brisco County Writer's Room - A write-'em cowboy reunion
* The History of Brisco Country, Jr. documentary
* A Reading From The Book of Bruce featurette
* Tools of the Trade interactive gadgets gallery hosted by Campbell

The release date is just a few days before the San Diego Comic Con where Campbell was hounded about the show's DVD release last year. What a difference a year can make.

Fuck that price. So much for owning this show that was a big part of my childhood.
Yeah, that price is insane, but they picked the right cover art!
Yikes. The price is a bit steep to say the least. Oh well, the possible R2 release might be cheaper but will most likely lose the extras.
Too bad pilot director Bryan Spicer hasn't gone on to do bigger and better things -- he showed so much promise with the first Power Rangers movie.

Any show where Bruce Campbell shoots a bullet straight up Vincent Klyn's gun-barrel gets high marks in my book.
Why is there a picture of Mike Mussina on the DVD box?
I love the show, but there is no fucking way I'm going to spend that much money on this thing. Forget it. I'll have to rent it some weekend when there's nothing else to do.
I hate to admit it, but I'm such this show's bitch. I'll get it for as cheap as I can (100 damn dollars!?!), but it was my favorite show ever until I finally watched Angel.
The show gets special kudos for me for being able to mix comedy, mystery, sci-fi, and some straight-up, honest-to-goodness western touches to the series. It had its cheesey touches, but I liked how it kept its tongue firmly in cheek without ever becoming campy. That and I'm a sucker for continuing-storyline series, and the whole ongoing mystery with The Orb and how even seemingly unrelated episodes ended up tying into it.

The $100 price is waaaaay to fucking steep, though. Methinks this is going to be a rental until I can find it used, or on eBay, for a more reasonable price.

Back cover art and Amazon.com has the pre-order price for $69.99, which is a lot cheaper then $500 (or something like that) price mentioned before.
