Did you play a lot of Nintendo games as a kid?

is there a meaning behind these drawings? It would help if there was a difference of value in your pencil work. a bit of color would be nice.

Getting a definite Castlevania/Gradius vibe here.

I do like the figure with the sword, but then the "devil" image is a bit un-surreal

ok, got ya...i think thats a creative idea bringing in video games into a surreal art work...thats a good idea there... one maybe i could use also lol

style classification?

i wouldn't classify the drawings as surreal... more fantasy, i think (although it may simply be a matter of execution, and that i don't equate pencil sketches with surrealism). the little dude with the sword reminds me of the aliens in "the search for the most amazing thing."

heh. my age is showing.

Gotta say, your color ones seem to be coming from a different place than your black and whites and generally seem much more mature.

I don't think so. Your paintings have a dimensionality lacking in the drawings, irrespective of the color or medium.

Huh, just discovered this thread and I must say there's some pretty sweet stuff in here. I actually like the Hieronymus Bosch influences the least, but not at all because of how well done they are. The collages(?) are very professional looking. Out of everything, I think I like your use of color best, especially in the first two pictures you posted. They kind of have a blacklight/velvet painting look, but not. Pretty cool.

Anyway, if you like Neckface and his simpler stuff, have you checked out Chet Childress' drinking birds? Most I've seen have been done in pencil, and in my opinion are classic skate art up there with Ed Templeton's stuff.

The ones in color look much more complete for some reason, even though I am usually way more in support of black and white.
