Basic Instinct Ultimate Edition DVD

What a load of shit. First of all, the extras are exactly the same as the previous special edition except for a 10 second Sharon Stone introduction and a 5 minute ''conversation with Sharon Stone." They even jettisoned one of the commentaries from the old SE!

Just stick with the old one if you have it, or if you see both on the shelf, save yourself 10 bucks and go with the 03 edition.

On a side note, if anyone could help me out: I picked up the UE last night and watched a few minutes of it, the picture was horrible on my HDTV with artifacts all over the place. I rented the old SE for comparison and it had a much better picture. Has anyone else been able to compare and notice the same thing, or do i have a defective disc? I figure if they copied everything else, they'd just use the same transfer as well.

How does the 'frame by frame' advance work on the new edition?

I'm not sure if there if there is any reason to own ANY version except for the original DVD release. That disc had the audio track for the blind, and its one of the most entertaining things I've ever encountered.

An audio track for the blind? Like the one on the Daredevil (non-DC) disc? Because that track is hilarious and it's the only way I'll watch the movie now (it was a blind buy at the time.... pun intended, I guess).

Similar to the one on the very first (pre-"Ultimate Edition") Terminator 2 DVD put out by Artisan, and which are fairly uncommon today. The Basic Instinct track was indeed a hoot. "Feels-on-Wheels."

"Stealth" has also one of these and it looks like the EDI character (you know, the evil plane CPU) is reading the script. Fun it is, indeed.
