Grandma's Boy: Unrated

While the movie (or at least the rated version) is pretty mediocre (although there's some really hilarious jokes at the beginning), this cover art should do a good job of pushing the film towards the cult following it was always intended for:

Was this "bored Sunday" bad or "I hate myself" bad?

They're trying to appeal to the unemployed with that cover.

Sales should be through the roof.

It's a movie specifically designed for stoners, which is pretty clever when you consider that they'll find just about anything funny.

Hey, a table lamp! Hee hee hee

Anyway, I usually complain about slip-covers because they always have the same crap on the slip-cover that the actual DVD cover has, but I actually like this slip-cover (if it even IS one).

That said, we get plenty of info on an absolutely awful movie that came out THIS YEAR, but one of last year's greatest movie gets no Region 1 news at all. WHER THE F*** IS KISS KISS BANG BANG?

the video store I work at had an industry mag with an ad for Kiss Kiss. pretty sure it mentioned some time in May. I can double check tomorrow if you like.
special features included val kilmer/robert downey/shane black commentary, and deleted scenes.
Another thread on here was saying May 16th. I didn't know about the commentary. That would be a blast, though I guess it might depend on when the commentary was recorded. It might not be as big a blast if they did it recently, but would still be interesting to listen to those guys discuss who's to blame for the film not finding a bigger audience.

According to a DVD distributors-only magazine, it's May 9th in Spain. So considering all Warner Bros. region 2 releases street on the same day, I'd just put my champagne bottle in the freezer a week earlier.

What wasn't confirmed yet were the extras, but I remember reading somewhere that there was a Val Kilmer-solo commentary (uh?), deleted scenes indeed and some featurette on creating the perfect B-movie scenario or something like that.

May 9th. Now that's a long wait, considering that I could just see the movie in its horribly-dubbed spanish version. Oh, ummm... and this thread was about what?

Sorry for the massive derailment.

May 9th? I was prepared for the next coming weeks! Fuck my cock!

And "Grandma's Boy" is one of the most boring, unfunny times I've ever had in a theater. Not a single laugh to be found. Though it's got Linda Cardellini, and that's nice.
Cardellini was particularly sexy throughout the duration of Grandma's Boy. Took me the whole movie to figure out it was Velma/Lindsay Weir, but yeah.. really hot.

Truth be told, I loved this movie and will be buying it when it comes out. This was actually a great time at the movie theatre for me as everyone seemed to be having a good time watching it.

I might pick this up, I just recently saw Duece Bigalow:European Gigolo, and I actually found it to be really funny. So I'm willing to give this a chance. I haven't seen it, but what is so bad about it that so many people hate it?
quick update on Kiss Kiss.. the ad says May 16th, with features being the previously mentioned Kilmer/Downey/Black commentary and a gag reel. That is all.

Christ this movie was lame. It's passable for the first ten minutes, then hits you with a neverending barrage of comic ineptitude. I can't imagine what kind of studio exec thought this was a good idea.

And fuck everyone who drags out these tired ass old lady jokes.
The cute old lady's getting stoned!
The cute old lady's swearing!
The cute old lady's bragging about all the guys she banged!

May those asshole writers never work again.

A quick look at imdb shows that one was the actor roommate from Little Nicky, and after this movie went on to pen the true classic "Benchwarmers".

The other guy is doing a movie called 'Flirt', so be sure to avoid that one when it comes out.
