And the latest twist in the saga: Maybe Isaac Hayes didn't quit, someone quit for him.

I don't remember hearing that he was recovering from a stroke.

Yeah, it'd be great if everybody who was mocked on television had the power to prevent that. Just think, all the politicians could put a stop to The Daily Show. What a wonderful world it would be.

If I was homosexual, I'd want every sentient being in the universe to be aware of it. That way, I could be having even more gay sex on those tedious, intergalactic commutes.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks. It does'nt exactly fare well with the hetero fans of big budget action films either. Can you say, MI:3?

Scientology, as written by L. Ron Hubbard, teaches that one should not, and indeed cannot, trust a 'gay pervert'. Insert Tom's guilty conscience here.

Whether or not Tom is gay is not the important issue, it's his irrational behavior when defending his hetero status along with the ensuing fallout that is most significant here. Instead of simply shrugging off all these allegations with say, some witty self deprecating humor, he chooses the Hollywood equivalent of punching someone in the face, via a lawsuit, or throwing a tantrum with his studio to get all the 'lies' retracted. He perpetually inflicts far more damage on himself than any accusations have ever done, which in turn, does'nt serve to exemplify one who is comfortable with their own sexuality.

You know how I know he's gay?
He listens to Asia.

the in the closet thing I can understand Cruise having a problem with, despite the fact that he can't laugh off anything (fake laughs don't count) and could actually be gay. But the scientology part is 100% fair game, and hilarious.

Uth, didn't Xenu ban intergalactic gay sex? Cruise never took an official position on that. Although I think I do remember Travolta one time saying during intergalactic commutes anything goes, and Kelly Preston agreed via a blank look on her face.

Sorry if this is old news; didnt have time to read the whole thread.

Those close to Hayes are said to be "mystified" by the statement released March 13 and attributed to him.

Meanwhile he Scientology-skewering "Trapped in a Closet" episode, pulled last week amidst allegations that Tom Cruise had intervened, will air this Wednesday.
Note the last sentence.

Guess the hubub was really for nothing.

I knew there was a reason BOTH the episodes aired that night were not as listed (as opposed to just the Cruise one). It was just a scheduling error, me thinks.

He used to date Cher.

whoa, Cruise's ex wives had to sign non disclosure agreements? when did they even do that? was it in the prenup? THat definitely shows he has something to hide. Who are his ex wives/girlfriends anyway? all I know is Kidman and Mimi Rodgers. He really dated cher?

What kills me about Cruise is that he's one of those guys who is permanently acting (with no range btw) every move is calculated and unnatural, it's like he thinks he's in a movie 24/7, his fake laugh/smile with the unintentionally angry eyes is such a psycho red flag.

John travolta has been the butt of many jokes over his entire career, and save for his wacky scientology benders he occasionally takes (see: Battlefield Earth), the guy actually has a great sense of humor about himself.

Also, he was in fucking face/off. Tom cruise WISHES he was as fucking cool as travolta in face/off.

Many people would react uncomfortably if they were publically accused of being gay. Not everyone can just laugh that off.
Yes. They're called "insecure with their masculinity".

Cruise Denies 'South Park' Rumors

War Of The Worlds star Tom Cruise has slammed media reports he was responsible for stopping the rebroadcast of a controversial South Park episode poking fun at him. During an interview on ABC's Primetime the actor was adamant he had nothing to do with a repeat of the animated show being pulled off the air at the last minute, insisting he was too involved filming Mission: Impossible III to worry about such trivial matters. He explains, "First of all, could you ever imagine sitting down with anyone? I would never sit down with someone and question them on their beliefs. Here's the thing. I'm really not even going to dignify this. I honestly didn't really even know about it. I'm working, making my movie, I've got my family. I'm busy. I don't spend my days going, 'What are people saying about me?'"

He's like, randomly putting words and sentences together that don't make any sense. STOP PRETENDING ALL THE TIME, TOM.

"I've never heard of this. I don't watch South Park. I don't own a television. I've never heard of the concept of TV. And I don't like to watch it anyway. Homosexuality doesn't exist. Neither does Scientology. It's a lie made up to slander me. And it's wrong to question my belief in it. There are no such things as beliefs. I'm too busy making movies to worry about such trivial things as beliefs. I spend my days with my family. Not watching TV. Movies are better than TV. I don't care. Go Away."
