I still haven't seen the season opener (on my TiVo), but I was wondering if anyone else caught this and what their impressions were. Want to make sure it's worth sitting through, I guess.

Is this Season 6? Has it started already? I can't find the cast listing? And wasn't this on VH1? Or are you talking about the Simple Life? Can I ask more questions in a post?

Ok. I looked at the cast, and they look uninteresting. Of course, sometimes I say that, and the show is entertaining. Usually there's at least one trainwreck of a person in the house--I'm assuming that will either be Tawny or CC. I'll catch up this week with the first episode.
In general, the first season was great, the second season was good, and it's had highs and lows the last 3-4 seasons. The season with Joanie Laurer was probably one of the better of the last few. Half the time, you end up hating specific members, and that's it. Corey Feldman was one of the most unlikeable people I'd ever seen after watching that first season.

George Jefferson in the "Surreal" house? I guess he's moving on down... :P
I'm a sucker for this show. Even when its bad its good. Nothing compares to the first season though. It came out of nowhere, so expectations were low, and the episodes were an hour long, so the castmates were portrayed with a little more depth. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I teared up when MC Hammer helped Vince Neil regain his faith in God (he renounced his religion after his 4-year old daughter died of stomach cancer). My second favorite season had Vanilla Ice, Ron Jeremy, Tammy Faye Baker, and "Trash"elle from the Real World: Las Vegas.

the Arquette shemale is tough to watch, they might as well have Elliot Offman from the howard stern show on there. I think it;s funny that the smashmouth guy is on there, I didn't think he knew how much his career is declining, I guess he ran out out cash from his cheesy riffs that were made for endorsements. At vh1 headquarters they probably had to make a decision between him and Scott Stapp. George Jefferson is way too cool for these people.

Just watched the first ep. Three recovering addicts, a transgender, a playmate, a wannabe wrestler, and Mr. Jefferson. Comedic gold.
I love Alexis. All you haters need to check yourself. She's smart, interesting, and makes some great observations. She is a bit horny, though. I suppose that could turn off male viewers. I love that she sees Andrea as a threat. Cat fights will ensue.
Andrea doesn't have to worry about being called the ditz, Tawny has nothing going on up there. Her "figuring out" that there were 6 castmates because there were 6 beds in the house would make Einstein proud. I lost it when she announced that the Surreal Life mail had arrived, but then proceeded to read the letter to herself as everyone looked on expectantly. Also, someone needs to let Tawny know that washing dishes is not equivalent to collecting welfare checks.
I really like CC. He's fresh out of rehab and has tons of energy. Joining the Surreal Life cast, however, was probably not the best place for him to start his new, sober life. Also, CC's face when Ace said Guns N' Roses was his favorite 80's band... priceless.
Steve from Smashmouth? Whoever that guy is, he has major OCD. He mopped the floor, not once but twice in a two day period. And then he tried to take control over the contest to pick the 7th castmember. He's got some control issues to deal with.
Speaking of control, what's up with Flo?! Mrs. Henderson walked in and started barking orders immediately. Fuck that, man. I would have told her where to shove it.
Oh, how could I forget Sherman. He reminds me of Manny Mo from Season 1. A little shy, just sitting back and watching the looneys, but when it comes time for him to shine, he'll light up a room. Can't wait to see George reunite with Weezy! God, I just remembered Tawny attempting to sing the "Jeffersons" theme song. She fucking mangled that thing.
This may be the greatest Surreal Life ever!
