Robots in your house

I won a Roomba at a covention I went to last week for work. I would never in a million years buy one of these things but now that i have one, its pretty darn cool.

The Roomba is in no ways practical. Its a vacuum that works by itself.. only after you place it in the center of your room and press the clean button. You can't really leave it alone or in our case it will get stuck in the corner and never finish cleaning.

You could probably pull out your old vacuum and clean faster than the roomba but its still pretty cool to watch and actually can clean under the bed and under tables pretty well.

Anyway, I now own a robot. Mock me now!

or if you want, tell us about the robots you own., if you own a robot dog or cat or something?

Can it suck up a small lizard?

Does a Robosapien count? I picked one up on impulse a few weeks ago for $30. It's great for freaking the dogs out! Especially if you set it on room guard & one of them triggers it.

You may want to pick up some Old Glory Robot Insurance.

Persons denying the existence of robots may be robots themselves.

I'm reading a comedy script right now from Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, "How To Survive A Robot Uprising", which features a comedic take on a robot apocalypse. Needless to say, it's more creepy than funny, and this only exacerbates the nightmares the script's been giving me.

Don't be the first to go when the robots conquer, friend.

If you scoop out the mechanical insides, the outer shell can make a great popcorn-holder.

Do you have stairs in your house?

I'm not going to mock you. My uncle and I discussed how cool it would be to have just this sort of thing years before Roombas came on the market. We were going to call it the FloorShark. If we had done, we'd be rich men.

But I have no shop, and I have no tools, and I don't know much about programming and I know absolutely nothing about neural nets. So it goes.

no. I live in a one-story house. I heard that roombas don't work very well with stairs.

a friend also gave me this article which is even cooler. http://news.com.com/Roomba+takes+Fro...ht&tag=nl.e433

Sorry, neaux. That was an archaic internet gag.

The Robosapiens are only 30 bucks now? I might actually pick one up then. I thought of it when they came out, but I wasn't going to blow a hundred dollars.

Yeah. I'm 3/4ths into it, and it's pretty mediocre. Robert Luketic is signed on to direct.

I didn't think it was particularly shoved or pushed in too badly.
