TOP CHEF on BRAVO

Is anyone else watching this? I only saw the first episode, which reminded me a lot of Hell's Kitchen (FOX).

This show has a lot more "professionals" from the industry and the challenges seemed to mix in some interesting scenarios to get the contestants to quickly go after each others throats.

I plan on watching a few more episodes before I decide whether or not I stick with it.

It's basically Hell's Kitchen meets Project Runway. I wasn't planning to watch, but I caught the first episode and was immediately hooked. I think I'm just addicted to the clashing personalities.

I'm watching "Who Will Be the Next Food Network Star?" instead. The most inflammatory thing on the first epsisode was one of the Iron Chefs telling the participants that they have no "knife skills". Or nunchuk skills, or bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills...

My boyfriend's a sous chef and we're both fans of Project Runway, so it was a given we'd watch this. We missed last night's episode, though.

So far, my boyfriend's been right-on on who would be the next "out" and who would win. And we both can't stand that somalier guy - the fruit tray challenge called for "knife skills" and that guy had bits of stuff in cups. Didn't show off any knife skills whatsoever.

Ah well, we're still hooked and will be definitely be watching.

I enjoy it, as I do most of Bravo's competition/reality shows, but I liked Project Runway more (to my suprise).

I'm enjoying it, but I wish it had a bit more "Hell's Kitchen" and a tad less "Project Runway".

The best part of Hell's Kitchen was the intense kitchen rush with Ramsay screaming and the chefs running around in such a high stress situation.

In Top Chef they get an hour to calmly prepare a fish dish.

Actually in every episode they have a "Quick Fire" challenge in which they have 30 minutes to prepare a dish. The elimination challenges usually give them more time.

I've been pretty hooked on this show. Lot's of tension between the contestants, usually caused by one of the following people: Stephen "The Educator", Tiffany "The Bitch", Dave "The Cry-Baby", and Miguel "The Egomaniac".

The "reunion" show before the final three showdown was fantasticly trashy. They showed everyone openly drinking on air and getting verbally abusive with one another. Tiffany puking in the corner was especially great.

As for the final two, I had really hoped Dave would have edged Tiffany out. But forgetting to make a dish was just too big of a mistake to ignore. I'll be damn surprised if Harold doesn't win the title of Top Chef. He's easily the front runner.

I missed this show, but caught a marathon a little while back, and have been hooked ever since. Much like Diva, I enjoyed the reunion special and would have loved to see DAve in the finals - but he did mess up pretty bad.

Harold should take it - I haven't been impressed with Tiffany much at all.

Color me unsurprised. Harold wins unanimously.
