So Sci fi is showing this miniseries starting tonight.

I guess the DVD comes out tomorrow as well?

Anyway it looks pretty good IMO. I know nothing about it though.

Anyone have a scoop on whether this might be more entertaining than what usually is shown on Sci-Fi Channel.

I think this has already played in Germany under the title Ring of Nibelgungs circa 2004, but I guess Dark Kingdom is supposed to have some flair to it. Looks okay, if only for the presence of Benno Fuhrman.

That looks terrible. I feel bad for Ronald Moore. He brings an actual sense of quality original programming on the Sci Fi channel, only to have it all brought down in one fell swoop with this crap.

It looks pretty bad, although it's Sci-fi, so that isn't surprising.

After watching part I, I'd say it's roughly "Children of Dune" quality. Which is to say that I liked it, and think that it marks another step in the general upswing in Sci-Fi channel original miniseries' quality after the nadir that was "Earthsea." Hell, when three out of four of the "name" actors are generally considered to be REAL ACTORS, something has to be going right.

I missed it last night (but it will probably be rebroadcast a million times).

Was it pretty much the story of Siegfried?

I'm not too familiar with the original story from which the movie/miniseries was based, but yes, the majority of it centered on Segfried's character.

I believe that SciFi will be reairing over the weekend.

detonathor - SciFi just bought the rights to this, it is NOT a SciFi production.
