Help - What movie is this?

I have vague memories of a movie that was either on Captain USA (I think that was the show) or Saturday Nightmares... it involved children whom, after touching a tree (presumed to be poisonous in someway) turned into killing machines. Any ideas?

While I'm at it... I have a really, really faint memory of a slasher film that might have involved soap in the mouth and possibly a javelin... also appeared on one of the two shows mentioned above. I could just be making this one up, but if it sounds familiar, let me know.

These were from years gone by... 20 or so ago.

I saw this horror movie once, and it scared me. I think I was about 11. Anyone remember that one?

Sounds vaguely like the Children, with James Best, but I think it was like a radioactive fog that turned them deadly. They would touch people, and like burn them up with their hands. Used to be on USA all the time. Could this be it?

Hey - the 2nd one was vauge, I'll give you that, but poisonous trees and zombie kids should be enough detail for someone to figure it out...

It's quite possible.

Doubtful, but I'm looking it up on IMDB just to make sure. Likely, too recent.

Holy shit, a real answer... I knew it was a long shot and I wasn't 100% sure such a feat was possible on the Chud forums. The fog portion does not sound familiar but the burning, does. Thanks.

ETA: Well, The Children sounds about right... I guess it was radioactive fog - not sure where the trees thing is coming from...

Any chance my second memory mentioned is of the film 'Graduation Day'? : http://imdb.com/title/tt0082467/

Anyone remember it? Soap in the mouth? Javelins?

OK, time for odd coincidence of the day. I read this thread earlier today, then I went and checked out the upcoming schedule for the Alamo Drafthouse theater here in Austin. They have a series going on where every Thursday at midnight they show a free old obscure horror movie. So I see on May 18th, they are showing Graduation Day. And one week later they are showing the Children. Fucking weird.

I'm thinking of the slasher spoof Pandemonium with Tom Smothers and Paul Reubans.

That was death by Electric Toothbrush, although a lot of tooth paste was splattered about. I don't recall a javeline there, but it's been a lot of years, so maybe.....

I'm almost positive it was Graduation Day - given the track & field theme described in the synopsis.

Dalyn - that is weird. I've been curious about the identity of those 2 films for awhile and just decided to ask - mostly out of boredom. Good timing. Go see 'Graduation Day' and let me know if it's a match.

I was thinking that it sounded like "The Children" as well, but I have not seen that since it's original release, so my memory is a bit faded.

First may be Eyes Of Fire. Story involves trees and possession by tree spirits. This is a period piece taking place in colonial America.

While we're trying to identify things, can I throw another one into the mix?

I was watching Kingdom Hospital on the SciFi Channel last night, and the part with the guy getting hit by the van really reminded me of something I saw a long time ago, and now I'm dying to know what it was. I'm pretty sure that I saw it back in the early or mid-eighties. It was on tv, so I don't know if it was a movie or just an episode of some show. The scene that I remember involved a car chase through woods. The cars may or may not have been jeeps. Anyway, one of the cars flipped over and a guy was thrown out of it, getting his neck broken in the process. He stayed conscious (complete with voice-over monolog of what he was thinking) but was completely paralyzed. I don't think he could even move his eyes. Soon after, a kid found him, got down on his hands and knees, and started reaching towards the guy. I don't remember the kid saying anything, but the guy was mentally saying something along the lines of, "I'm not dead! C'mon, touch me! Touch me!" Then the kid pulled his hand back and ran away. After that, some people (I think they were the other surviving participants in the car chase) found the guy and took him back to some place that looked like either an operating room or a morgue. They laid him out on a table and started getting ready to cut him open, all while the guy was still mentally yelling that he wasn't dead. And that's all that I can remember of it, though I'm not sure if that is because that's where the story ended or if my babysitter finally decided that little kids shouldn't be watching that sort of thing and changed the channel. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Sounds like an old episode of the Twilight Zone, possibly redone for more modern TV. I'm not too familiar with the 80's redo, but the old episode I saw went something like that. I think that premise has been done to death, there was a Tales from the Crypt along those same lines with someone getting shot up with a drug that paralyzed them.
