It's still really goddamn addictive. It's basically a movie database, in which you give marks (out of a hundred) to random movies and -- optionally -- write mini-reviews for them. From ten ranked movies on, it matches you with users who fit your profile best and recommends movies based on your scorings. This matching is done based on ten tiers, rather than the actual points you give the movies. This is done because some people will vote a good movie 85, and others 100.

For example, to see how well our movie tastes match, just search for user ServantDagon after you've made a username and rated more than ten movies.

Addictive I tells ya.

My top users have constantly changed because I keep on adding movies, but - interestingly enough - there has consistently been one chewer in the top 10. Today's: TroyAnderson.

You click on the star next to the mini-review and it will turn yellow. That's all you do. If you don't see the mini-review, click on the speach bubble if there is one. The speach bubble will be next to the username if you're on the movie page, but if you are on the user's page, the speach bubble will be next to the movie title. There should appear the mini-review and a grey star. Click it and turn it yellow. Wahoo.

I wish you could see every mini-review by a user on his "see all rankings" page, not just the ones for films you've both seen. I want to know why the guy I'm ridiculously uncompatible with loves Ace Ventura but hates Spider-man, dangit.

Edit: to put it another way, I want to know why you, Cellophane, hate WADWTH! so much. I haven't seen it, but I'm curious.

The site relaunched with a big new update the other night -- now there's a friend system, there are more ways to look at your own rankings, and it's a lot easier to find ratings that come with reviews.

I began giving marks just to see how many movies I've actually seen so far. I stopped at 600 which not even scratched the surface. *sigh
