Mr. and Mrs. Smith gets an Unrated Special Edition:

I think Fox easily has the most double-dips of any studio right now.

The film will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. The total runtime is 125 minutes - making it around 13 minutes longer than the theatrical cut. DVD Extras will include a director commentary, a few deleted scenes including an alternate ending, Doug's Film School Sequence Breakdowns With The Director (which includes Animatics, Storyboards And A Major Action Sequence Not Included In The Film), a behind the scenes documentary, some Confidential Files Featuring Secret Footage, a Shooting School Combat Training featurette, a photo gallery, and more.
It was quite clear that this film had a bunch of stuff missing - mainly from the big department store fight. Yet, I was stupid enough to purchase the previous release. I was disappointed with the film, but I'll check out the reviews of this to see if the Unrated version will fix some of the pacing problems.

If that bit with the machine gun and tricycle isn't put back in, I'm gonna be pissed.

LoL I forgot about that tricycle part. I also feel duped~ I bought the first release aswell.

Ahh...I didn't fall for the first release, so I'm happy. I did the same thing with Pulp Fiction. I didn't own it for the longest time (apologies to Billy Joel), just knowing that a super-special edition would arrive someday.

Sometimes I just wish they'd release the proper theatrical cuts. In the case of the Unleashed DVD, it had a completely different ending than what I'd seen in theatres. If they're going to make Director's Cuts, then it should be standard practice to have the original cut available as well. That's why I refuse to buy the new Warriors DVD, it just completely changes it and I don't want that.

I'm waiting for the proper version of Kill Bill before I buy either of those films.

The ONLY film that I haven't really minded the double/triple dipping was all of the releases of T2. The first one was garbage, the only "special" feature being 84 chapter stops, the second one (Ultimate Edition) was the shit, with the most rockin dts track ever, and hours of extras, and the third one (Extreme Edition) has a HD version of film and a new commentary with James Cameron. Each version gives something new and improved, I think.

No FOX release is worth buying immediately if you at all are hoping for a better edition. Double-dipping is their company policy now.

Like... a decent script.

So this is going to include the Keith David/Angela Basset sub-plot?

Who the fuck cares about tricycles and pacing issues? It's an unrated edition. What about Angelina's naughty bits?

Yeah, when will we finally get to see those?

I rarely rush out to buy anything anymore (unless there's a really good price), especially when there's a chance we might see a special edition release down the road. I enjoyed this film in theaters though I thought some of the pacing seemed off in that last gun battle. I'd want to rent the SE before I bought it though.

I only saw the new cut of Unleashed, what was the original ending, just out of curiosity?

Jet Li gets neutered, and ironically does become someone's bitch.

"What about Angelina's naughty bits?"

Actually I remember reading a news blip on Darkhorizons.com that they a flmed a fairly lenghty sex/nude scene for the movie...but that was excised due to the bugdet overruns (i.e the PG-13 rating) and Brad/Jen/Jolie triangle...so you may be in luck.
