How 'Bout Dem O's Hon?

O.k., now that opening day has come and gone, I, being probably the only Orioles fan that posts here, will start the Baltimore thread. Have to say I was quite happy with our 9-6 win today over the D-Rays. Granted, it's not neccesarily the high water mark of success to beat Tampa, but I was happy with our bats, with Tejada, Mora, Millar, and Conine all going yard. Here's to us hopefully looking like the first half of last season, and not the last. I'll be at Camden Yards Saturday to watch us take on the Damon and Millar-less Sox, anyone else?

I'm a longtime (casual) O's fan, but have become conflicted since the Nationals arrived. What's a Washingtonian to do?

Since you're a Washingtonian, being a Nat's fan is understandable, however, being that they're in two seperate leagues, and neither represent a huge threat at play-offs, you're probably safe rooting for both.....

I'm a huge O's fan....have been all my life....only problem I live down south in Braves country now and people here could care less about the O's so I don't get to watch many games.....Any ways the one thing I do know is that the O's will start strong, they do every year and then around July they will slump and some how drop from 2nd to dead last in a month and stay in that position til the seasons up.....When Jeff Conine is one of your bigger pick ups from the off season, your season doesn't look bright

Root for both teams!

The Os are starting strong, and it's always a pleasure to watch 'em play at home. The Nats didn't shrink the O's market - they doubled the fans' market.

16-6 last night, gotta love our bats, though giving up 11 hits to the D-Rays has me concerned for when we face a moderately more potent team.

O's lose last night 2-0. Bats are scared.

8 and 6, only a game and a half back from the sox. Chris Ray is looking great as a closer. Enjoy this while it lasts O's fans!

I took my family to Camden Yards for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

While the Os lost the game, I can't say enough about the overall experience. From the easy parking to the high-quality hotdogs to the great view, a trip up to the Yards makes for a great afternoon. What a contrast from the woeful RFK.

I was at the game the next day (which we also lost). My friend introduced my to the best seating section, 363. It's upper reserve, right behind home plate, what a great view, and only 15 dollar tickets. I've never had a bad time at Camden Yards, but I gotta tell you Frank, don't buy the hot-dogs inside. The hot-dogs that the outside vendors sell are top-notch, the sodas are cheap, the peanuts are plentiful and cheaper, and you can bring it all inside with you.

Heh. We sat in the same section! We're going to see the Nats play the Dodgers in a couple of weeks, and we're going to test the outfield seating in RFK. I'll bring high-powered telescopes for the whole family.

Thanks for the tip wrt the vendors. While there's nothing like having the hot dog guy come to your seat, I'm more than happy to save some scratch on sodas and peanuts.

Question for you: does Camden Yards have a booth that sells gear from the opposing team? Dodger Stadium always offered "guest gear," and my wife scouted the whole venue looking for a place to buy a Mariners cap with no success.

You know, I'm not sure, I haven't scouted it out. Again, pointing to the outside vendors though, you can usually find whatever you need with them. And you can buy some Feauxkly sunglasses!

Excellent.
