I'm still not completely convinced that Amanda Peet and Lake Bell aren't really the same person.

I don't know, but I can say with confidence that you're the only person to think anything about Troop Beverly Hills in at least 20 years. (Part of a thankfully short-lived trend in 1989, along with Christmas Vacation, of movies whose opening credits play over a cartoon. Who thought that would be appealing?)

I have my sister to thank for my near memorization of that damned film. Whenever she was left in charge of me when my parents were out she had control of the VCR so consequently I'm well versed in Ladybugs, Troop Beverly Hills, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Sound of Music, Anne of Green Gables, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Teen Witch and that one made for TV movie she recorded that was a Biopic of gymnast Nadia Comaneci.

When I hear childhood stories from guys who grew up with multiple older sisters, they still can't match the hazing my one sister put me through. It is partially why today I absolutely refuse to listen to or even keep up with pop music. The bathroom she commandeered in my childhood home shared a door with my room and without fail at 5:30 every morning she start her two hour morning ritual of getting ready for middle school (and later high school) by blaring the current early 90s pop hits as loud as the volume could go so she could hear it over all her damn hair drying. So like clockwork I was woken up every morning at 5:30 am by Madonna, Paula Abdul, Cindy Lauper and every other female pop singer of the time, which then later included female Hip-Hop singers too.

This is why I suspect that I am the only person I know that has never had a defining moment in my life when a song has connected to me on a deep emotional level, and also why I can't relax to any kind of music other than instrumentals.

Also, if you are listing late 80s movies with cartoon title sequence don't forget Ruthless People.

...and City Slickers. Didn't Coppola's New York Stories entry have some god awful cartoon intro?

He's been around since the '90s, maybe earlier, he's a little bug-eyed and has a high (possibly receding) hairline. I don't remember him having any big roles, maybe a few lines in a scene or two. He may have had some movie appearances (a Todd Phillips movie? an Adam McKay movie?), but I've probably mainly seen him on TV, maybe Arrested Development or 30 Rock or Late Night-era Conan. And I feel like I've seen him as a funny hillbilly or funny farmer or funny otherwise-rural character at some point, wearing a baseball cap and a plaid shirt and driving a pickup, maybe? So that's my look-alike challenge to you, Chewers. Does Mr. Goodwin here remind you of anyone fitting any of that description? The winner will be paid in rep.

BOYD BANKS !!!

My thanks go out to John Matrix for posting a video of Mr. Banks over in the "Minor Characters Who Deserve Spin-Offs" thread, from which I recognized the minor-Star-Trek-crewman look-alike who has bedeviled my days and haunted my dreams lo these many months. It's weird, because I've seen stuff he's been in, like The FountainLars and the Real Girl, and some SNL movies, but the only thing I now actually remember him being in is the 2004 Dawn of the Dead (he's the truck driver, and he does indeed wear a baseball cap and look a bit redneckish). But, according to IMDb, no Todd Phillips or Adam McKay movies, Arrested Development30 Rock, or Late Night; I don't know why I thought of those.

Whew, I'm glad we finally got that sorted out. Our long national nightmare is over.

Are you sure Boyd Banks not Colin Mochrie? Talk about look alike!

Same hair line (hehe) same panicked eyes, same weak chin.

A lot of those seemed to simply be 'Celebrities' whose heads were positioned just right, but the Logan Marshall-Green thing blows my mind.

Poor guy will always be 'Not Tom Hardy'.

I saw Last Holiday yesterday (the Sir Alec Guinness one, not the Queen Latifah one).

Eveline Kirkwood-Hackett, who plays Miss Hatfield, looks like Sir Peter Ustinov:

And Peter Jones, uncredited as the travel agent at the beginning, has a distinctly Steve Coogan quality to him:
