Late to the party, but welcome MediaOracle from the Australian chud contingent - we're kinda like the lollipop guild but taller.

I also have to thank the last half page for suggesting the fantastic triple feature of The Frighteners, Ghostbusters and Galaxy Quest as I too shall be stealing that one.

You're welcome. I'm filled with all sorts of ideas for double and triple features.

Just realized I never bothered to introduce myself on the official introductions thread. So anyway, hey, nice to meet everyone.
Princess Kate, Nice to meet...you, as well.
It's love.
Hey there. I've been lurking the site for about two or three years now, and I figured it was finally time for me to join since registration opened again. This forum seems to be one of the best on the internet, and I'm looking forward to posting with you guys.

I'm currently a student up in Boston, spending the summer in NC. It's been an interesting time down here- definitely won't miss the audiences at the arthouses.
adamstrange, Going by your username...do you like the DC hero that is your namesake, and just as important...do you have a jetpack and a helmet with a fin? Either way...that is cool. Welcome to...CHUD.COM.
Hey everyone, I guess I'll introduce myself as well.

I'm a part time grad student living in (and from) NC and other than movies I enjoy sports, art and photography. I've been lurking for ages and finally decided to start posting. I'm not a film expert in any sense of the word but I love movies. Unfortunately my friends aren't as much into film, and don't always have the greatest taste (that sounds horrible I know) so I have to go online to find juicy discussion and interpretation. The "focused film discussion" forum here has got to have some of the best analysis and opinion on the internet. I think the thread on The Fountain convinced me of that.

Anyway, this is a great board. I hope to post more often and not just in threads for movies I'm in love with at the moment (like Basterds).

Welcome hyena. Hope your stay is a pleasant one
post #764 of 983
Greetings citizens.

I'm a long time reader of the website, and I'm pretty sure I registered here back in the olden days of old, but I don't post much. If at all. I think. Let me look after I post this message.

I'm from Melbourne Australia, and I'm a VFX supervisor / compositor for a company called Iloura.

I've been around other forums, and have decided this is the best place to discuss said love of films, and working on films!

Hurrah! See you all around.
Well I guess I should do this too.

I read chud.com and it's forum all the time. Love it. Signed up a while ago but am just finding my groove.
Hey, registered awhile ago, forgot my username, just 'membered it. I friggin' love this forum. I'm 22, live in montreal, hope to have some great discussions with you guys.
Question, how does one quote?

...in the forum not, y'know, life.

Well, first and foremost: Welcome!

And quoting is not that difficult. See this icon next to the post you wanna quote?

Just hit it and add your comment to the quote.

Now on to level 2 of the introductory course - If you wanna multiquote, use this button on all posts you wanna quote and use the "quote" button on the last you wanna quote!
Ah, ok, but to quote specific sentences and leave others out? Just delete what I don't want I guess...?
Yeah, just delete it down in the message box.

Heya Mr. Vengeance, from a fellow Montréaler!
Cool, didn't think there was another poster from the land of poutine here besides Savage. Whereabouts do you hail? St. Henri here.
Yikes. didn't know this thread was here. Just a belated intro. Registered around three weeks ago. check out my profile for some info; I ain't gettin' into full disclosure here. Cheers!

hello all...

Hi there. I've been a frequent visitor over the last year and just now getting around to joining in. I'm a stay at home dad in my 30's living in a suburb of Washington, D.C.. Primarily a horror fan. Love the site and look forward to hopefully getting better acquainted with many of you via this forum. And with that, I'm off to bed for the evening.
Welcome! Great user name, by the way!
Thanks! Are you an LPC fan?

Really wonderful pairing of food and name! Welcome, ChowderJulius!

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Would’ve posted ages ago, but had lots of problems registering. No matter. Better late than never as they say.

Anyhow, hello gang. I’m 25 (soon to be 26) years old, male, Italian-American. I grew up a film geek from an early, early age. I was a child of the latter half of the 80’s and the 90’s, but I’m one of those guys who’s boyhood nostalgia of those years is tinted with memories of things like Golan-Globus, The Road Warrior, A Better Tomorrow, and The Fly, rather than Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, or Power Rangers. I suppose that might, at least potentially, make me prime Chewer material.

So yeah, pleasure to finally speak to you all.
Welcome aboard, Jaquio. I think that you'd fit right in with the B-Action Movie thread.
Jaquio, I second the...B-Action movie, thread, if you enjoy any John Woo films. I would definitely go with...Hardboiled over anything else he directed. What part of...Connecticut are you from? I live in Greenwich, CT.

I live in East Haven, which is a pretty good ways far from where you are.

And also seconding the Hard Boiled love, which is definitely my favorite Woo movie too (Phillip Kwok's Mad Dog is the epitome of badass; then again Phillip Kwok in just about anything is the epitome of badass).

And yeah, I've been attempting to look around the B Action thread, which is utterly enormous. I kinda don't want to post until I've read through at least a little of it since I know it’s often proper internet forum etiquette to read through a thread before you post anything in it and all that. But then again... even a little is a LOT for a thread that size. I'm on mainly a Cannon Films/Golan-Globus kick at the moment, so I'm not sure to what extent it'd be appropriate for me to awkwardly stick in random references to Cobra, Delta Force 1 & 2, Death Wish 2/3/4, Enter the Ninja, or Invasion USA in the middle of whatever’s going on in there right now.
Jaquio, Whatever action film you like will probably be...loved by someone in the...B-Action Movie Thread. I lurked on this site for...8 years, before I started posting, so please...Jump right in, the water is...fine. Do not take too long before posting in...B-Action, as there are easilly 2-3 pages a day...of posts. East Haven? Is that near New Haven?

Just slide...

Go in, ramble about a film, then we all jump in. It works like that all the time.

Welcome aboard.

Hello, Chewers, I'm Chris Spider (obviously not my real last name). I'm a film-obsessed college sophomore with (at least I think so) fairly wide-range taste; if the movie's good, the genre doesn't matter. I am, however, a complete sucker for swashbucklers and pulp adventures, as well as movies that create a whole new universe to play in (some of my favorite examples: the Star Wars series, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit). I hope to have a splendid time here with all of you.

Some of my favorite films: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the Indiana Jones series, the Star Wars series, Ghostbusters, Goodfellas, both Gremlins films, nearly every Pixar film save Cars, and many more.

New Chewer

Hey everyone. Been lurking off and on for a couple of years, but have been actively reading the forums the last 5 months or so. I have one of those jobs that affords me a semi-ridiculous amount of time for web-surfing so I've been spending a lot of that time at CHUD.

I'm not a real student of cinema, but I do love movies and have really enjoyed the discourse in the Focused Film Discussion forums. I'm from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; so at the very least I'll up the Canadian quotient here at CHUD. Other than that, I look forward to contributing whatever I can to the community. Now off to the Sex Forums. (just kidding!)

Why would you want to do that?
Welcome Jon. I've been to Nova Scotia which was fun. Have you visited Filmjunk? Those guys are from north of the border and their podcast is fun. They even put up with the neverending questions about Poutine.

a good place to start here is CHUD's 100 films that deserve more love:

I feel like I've had the complete CHUD experience in 3 replies.

1.) Snarky Reply
2.) Informative Reply
3.) Friendly and Welcoming Reply

Seriously though, thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Mine was all three.

Hello CHUD-folk. I've been lurking for a couple years, but just recently discovered the forums, and subsequently Princess Kate, and decided I needed to join up. How exciting.
Anyhoo, I look forward to talking movies and not being accused of trolling.

My favorite movie is Ghostbusters.

Hi everyone....this is my first time posting in the thread, but not the first time posting here. I've been reading this site since forever and it has afforded me many a chuckle. (I remember Diva's Ass thread for example. Epic.)

I'm an art history major living in north Florida. I've been looking to go to a few of the Atlanta events, but I'm also broke, so there goes that. I was actually in fashion design for a few years in NYC....long story, I'm working to be a curator, and a large part of that is due to Indiana Jones.

For a girl I have pretty strange tastes, or so folks tell me. Kurosawa films, Miller comics, bioware games, and tentacle hentai are all on my list of favorite things.

So, pleasure to meet you all, and damn, some of ya'll get intimidating.

Joined a few days ago and just spotted this thread. I've been reading the site since around 2006, and decided to finally jump into the forum. Like everyone else here I have an intense love for movies, and I don't discriminate against any genre. My favorite films include Once Upon a Time in the West, Blue Velvet, Videodrome, Miller's Crossing, Trainspotting, The Thing, Rushmore, Casablanca, etc... I'm a college student and when I'm not doing school work or watching movies, I try to do some writing of my own.

Well, a short intro, film graduate in 2001, not that it's been much use, 33 years old male and a regular reader of this top site. Looking forward to some heated discussions...

Welcome to this wretched hive of scum and villainy. Beer's on the right, chicken wings are on the left. Pizza dead ahead.

I promise no one will drop bricks on your feet here. Well, probably not.
