Well, I know one of the rangers at Alcatraz National Historic Site, and she and the rest of the crew there will laugh themselved silly over the Alcatraz scenes.

You're a real dipshit, you know?

And your music sucks.

The main journos here in Spain watched it yesterday and according to them, it isn't that bad. The bunch I talked to this morning included a comic books connoisseur -who didn't exactly like it- and some other uninitiated, except for having seen the previous 2 movies which they consider "mainly good".

Not that they're entirely trustful, but I'm afraid they'll be more in tune with Joe Public that we will get to be. Apparently, they were missing more "superheroic stuff" this time around but were pleased with "the nice FX" (hmmm) and "colorful characters". Oh, and Brett Ratner behind the lens didn't bother them much, although many of them didn't know who he was (ah, the spanish press...)

So all in all, and expecting good reviews from their camp, looks like Fox has a moderate hit in their hands here.

Ok my friend I believe you have me totally mixed up with someone else... I dont make music, I'm sure my taste in music probably sucks for some but I dont think thats an issue here...

Who ever you are... I think you've proved that its you who is the dipshit... trolling around in this thread...

Lee is discovering how funny Sackley isn't.

So Lee, is there any chance for a deeply cynical man to find this film comedy gold?

I think if you go in to this film with a healthy dose of cynicism you'll likely find gold in every one of vinnie jones' lines just through how excruciatingly awful they are...

Its a hard call to make because I'm sure that some will find the film passable.. unsurprisingly Superhero hype (apt name) has a review that gives the film 8 out of 10... and there are some like me who'll stare in horror at the film performing a car wreck right before them...

Others may find humor in how crap it is, but you'd have to be the kind of hearty soul that can sit through the love scenes in attack of the clones without cringing but laughing...

Thanks for taking the bullet for us, but you know half of us are practically legally obligated to see it anyways.

Pretty much, Brad.

Still, my expectations at this point pretty much just dropped to zero. Which might be a good thing, actually, if it gets me any surprise enjoyment out of this thing.

Pretty much all of my questions have been answered, aside from one: were the rumors about Omega Red being in the movie true, or false?

If Omega Red is in this film he's very very well hidden...

@Brad - I understand that people will see this film regardless of my review, and thats fine... I'm also preparing myself for the X-3 apologists to come hunting for my hide approximately 3 mins after the credits and the stupid cop out "twist" roll over the screen....

I can't shake that this film actually looks pretty good, while everything i've heard about it has been pretty bad. Gonna have to go see it and expect the worst. Hopefully then I will be pleasantly surprised.

Lee - was just fuckin' with ya. Drinking and posting, you know how it is. No harm intended.

So does Colossus do anything?
I just read somewhere that someone other than Cyclops bites it, I then read who it is, and it makes me sick. I am not paying to see this. This is the last straw. Fuck Fox and Ratner. Fuck 'em through the heart.

The fast ball special twice... carries a 40" TV under his arm in another scene, has about 3 lines and takes part in the final punch up on Alcatraz island..

In short.. no not an awful lot.

Stay through the end credits for the set-up of the next sequel, featuring said character still alive. And though they're hardly gospel, Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up (Ebert liked X2, didn't like X-Men).

Jesus Forsythe Christ. If there are screenings already I can't believe this hasn't been outlined and adressed on a dozen frontpages by now. Guess I don't visit the right sites.

I'm not even a comic book person. I've read maybe 2 of the x-men comics in my life but even I know what worked about the first two. The second one was on tonight/yesterday and that Nightcrawler opening still comes off as 90proof of absolut cool. The massive potential for action scenes involving characters that betray physics doesn't come around every day, and when it's wasted like this it just, egh...

If even half of this post is true I'm going to walk out of the theatre like that dude at the end of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, yelling and frothing at the mouth.

Actually the end reveal / twist ending shown at the end of the credits doesnt cover Cyclops returning but another character who bites the big one early... see my previous spoiler text posts for more details... but Cyclops is most definitely dead according to this movie.

Which is a fucking joke, really. Cyke is THE X-Man. The First. The one constant in just about ALL of the teams they have hodgepodged together over the years.

Looks like Marsden got cunt-punched for moonlighting in Metropolis.
