I really, really can't wait for this. Broken Saints was one of the best web experiances I ever had. And that cover art is so much better than the quote-whoreish sundance cover.

BTW, here's the original site:

Yes, it is distributed by Fox of all people.

I've never heard of this. But the reviews on Amazon seem very positive.

What can you tell me about it?

Four strangers from different parts of the globe get frightening visions of an apocalyptic event, eventually drawing close to each other and to the answers they seek. It is a pure horror story, and with a great subtext to boot.

It was also reviewed here on CHUD:

Thanks for that. Sounds very cool. I'll check it out.

So, I wonder, is this set simply a re-packaging of the existing dvd, or is there something new about it?

Yep, it is almost a double-dip but not quite. Brooke Burgess, the creator, stated on his website that the previous sundance DVD was available only to the fans and purchase only on the site. This is the first time that it will distributed nation wide.

Apparently there were reported to be some gaps in the previous DVD, so this is supposed to be a fixer-upper.

Bump

Holy shit, I nearly forgot about this thread. Has it really been a couple of months?

Anyway, the release date, August 1st, is next week.

I'm so excited about the release. I've only seen a few of the episodes, but i loved em when my friedns had me watch em last year and the trailer for the dvd set just makes me want it even more.

Negative buzz

Collider: Yawn.
IGN: The Matrix directed by Kevin Smith. Avoid.

Wow. I understand this isn't everyone's cup of tea (especially concerning the critics) but you don't need to be a diehard fan to appreciate it. Also, Burgess is a far, far cry from Kevin Smith.

Rent it instead

Just got the DVD last week, plopped it in...god, I feel drained.

Hate to break the bad news guys, but this isn't worth the money. It's an interesting and oftentimes successful web experiment, but I didn't think I would feel so BORED this time around. I will probobly write a reader review for this sometime in the future.

My posts above look like they mock my experiance.
