WTF?! "Al Pacino: An Actor's Vision" cancelled again

Not sure if anyone else was charged up about this, but it was a box set of "The Local Stigmatic", "Looking For Richard", and "Chinese Coffee", all previously unreleased or almost completely unseen. Also, a couple of other underseen pacino films like "Panic In Needle Park" and "Author Author". They were all originally slated to come out in February, then kicked back to this week, now they are on DVD Aficionado as "Release Cancelled". What is the deal? Was anyone else waiting for these?

I looked on various dvd sites and even a Pacino fan site but couldn't find anything. And yeah, I too was looking forward to checking out those films as a couple of them are hard to find.

I also want to see Bobby Deerfield (the one where he's a racer) and the film from the early 80's where Pacino plays a gay bartender.

I heard about this too, sounded awesome. I'm really a fan of these recent compilations being released lately (as I assume there weren't going to be many extras). That $15 Spike Lee five pack particularly revved my engine.

"Hollow Man 2" is released this week, but we can't get a bunch of never before released Al Pacino films? This just blows.

And yes Fab, that Spike Lee Collection is greatness. I got it for $20.

I'm sure it's probably a last-minute rights issue, or even something from either Pacino or even Jerry Orbach's estate, considering he helped him out a lot, especially in films like "Chinese Coffee," which I saw at TriBeCa a while back under the auspices of An Evening of Chinese Coffee and Conversation with Al Pacino.

The film is fairly good, from what my limited memory serves, so seeing it get bumped yet again really smells. Hopefully Fox will rectify everything soon.
