Blade Runner final cut announced - Page 2

They have not, but they shot footage for it recently (to replace a cheesy death scene, I think) so it's definitely still coming.
It's not all that cheesy. It's cold blooded.

Cheesy? No. Wiggy? Yes.

I love this movie, but I don't need a 5 disc copy of it. 3 is more than enough for me. That means it'll have enough good versions of the film in case the new one is subpar, plus some extras that I most likely won't watch.
I hope we can get some bonus prize with the box set. A model of those Spinner cars or some type of bust

An owl.
It's not truly a definitive ultimate edition without bobbleheads...

Do you own any 4 disc Ridley DVD's? cause the 4 disc BHD, KoH, And Gladiator are too me even better than Lord Of the Rings EE's cause Ridleys docs on the films dont shy away from anything and better than most movies these days.
I don't buy toys, but I must have those bobbleheads.
I own the Kingdom Of Heaven Director's Cut and it was well worth it (great holiday movie, btw.) I even watched some of the extras and they were as good as the Jackson stuff. I just don't want a big ass copy of Blade Runner that requires a pin number to open.

It is one of Scott's best films, so I'll up the ante to 4. But 5? No fucking way.
Not cheesy, I guess, but you can tell it was fake. I mean, there IS a reason they re-shot it.

The 'final cut' sounds pretty awesome, and if it lives up to its potential, no one will really need more than 2 discs. Except freaks, of course, and that's why they make those 5 disc monsters in limited amounts.
I'd be happy with a well-treated transfer of the Director's Cut. The rest is gravy. But I don't care for the special packaging, for this or any other movie. They don't fit well on the shelf.

Item not found.

Searching Blade Runner on their site results in older editions only....got a working link, or at least tell us what was there?

Cool news. I've seen some photos of an additional scene where Deckard goes to visit his fellow Blade Runner (wounded in the opening scene) in the hospital, so maybe that will be in the "final cut."
I wouldn't be surprised if there are more un-earthed deleted scenes we've never heard of (i.e. the original opening of Legend!)

The deleted Hospital scene in question...

one of the coolest geek finds ive come upon was an international cut VHS copy of the movie. i thought it was the theatrical cut, but a friend told me that was never put on vhs, and i must have the int'l cut.

Fucking awesome (assuming this version is available in the U.S.). The only thing missing is a commentary, but I suppose I'll make do. I can't wait to see the pre-production art.

So how expensive are we talking here?
Its Ridley, theres def gonna be commentaries, big question is did he get Ford to comment and was he in a good mood.

Well if you convert the price the aussies gave before they pulled the page about 120 - 150, I posted a range cause who knows when the dollar has moved so much in a short time.
I couldn't give a shit about the briefcase(I generally hate gimmick packaging), but I want this set NOW.
If the briefcase is metal, it would change my opinion on it, but we shall see if the US even gets it or not, I assume if we do it will be a store exclusive.

Remeber Nexus we get too see it on the BIG screen first before DVD, which is making me giddear then waiting for ESB SE in 97, the question though is how big of release will WB give it?
Any word on if this is going to be released on HD-DVD? I won't buy it any other way (then again, maybe I will).
That's a whole assload of "Blade Runner".

Inside the new HD-DVD Matrix boxed set that's coming out on tuesday there's a flyer stating that it'll be out on HD DVD in October.
God I hope they release that thing in Australia...not that I would be able to afford it but I am sure I can convince someone to buy it for me.
They better release this here in the states.
I've recently discovered that my dvd player is region free and coverts Pal to NTSC...so I will definitely be grabbing this set in some form.
*Looking at the case*

Sweet Jesus O'Reily! That's amazing!
The wait for this has been torture....
not as bad as Brannahs Hamlet which has never been on DVD, but considering this films reverance I am suprised it took WHV this long to patch up the rights issues.

I just ordered this on HD DVD in a giant box set like the one above, but the final US VERSION of the set is different. For instance, that AMAZING origami unicorn cover art didn't make it to the shelves

Does anyone know what the deal is? That is some of the coolest BLADE RUNNER stuff ever

PS The final version of the set also had a different handle on the case and wasn't aged looking, and the folder of concept art is plain black where as here it's made to look like a BR case file

HD DVD? Did I travel back in time three years and not realize it?

I have an HD DVD player, and no BLU RAY. It was a fraction of the cost to get it on HD DVD

Blu-ray players are getting cheaper, you should go for it. Just got one for my mom for 70 bucks on ebay. It was a Sony, it wasn't bad.

That's getting closer to a price that is doable at some point in the future for me, but right now at least I'm broke (my bank account is in danger of being closed for lack of funds), and even if I do get a BLU RAY player, it's going to have to come after I save for a new TV, ETC
