For me its a draw between Ocarina of Time and A Link to The Past. But for this one, I guess I'll go with Ocarina.

It truly was a great game for its time. It brought the series into the 3D realm and provided us with huge worlds to explore and huge, giant bosses to battle up close. There was all the big temples to explore and collecting the Skulltula spiders was a fun (yet frustrating) sidequest. Riding the horse through all the worlds was cool. As you explored the levels you could also sidetrack like the archery game where you won silver quivers or the fishing game.

Still a fun game to play, eight years later.

I've gotta say, TP for the Wii has me really interested. I don't ever remember a Next Gen(sorta) Zelda game on launch day before... And I REALLY need my Zelda fix, bad.

Windwaker all the way for me. Although I never played Ocarina of Time. Sue me.

A LINK TO THE PAST. Roger Ebert may believe that videogames aren't art, but this game in particular is the essence of immersive art. I still prefer the top-down view of the 2D Zelda games.

Ocarina of Time, hands down. Before LotR arrived, this game put all the Sword and Sorcery films to shame. (Did I make a rhyme? Weird)

Majora's Mask is also a fine game, gives me the feeling of a Miyazaki film. It was tedious as hell, though.

ocarina of time and the windwaker are awesome games but a link to the past is the crown jewel from the zelda franchise.

Ocarina of Time, but that's only because that's the only one I've played (I know, I know...). Incredible game to play.

Probably some nostalgia factoring in, but I remember A Link to the Past just being quintessential Zelda goodness, and the last few dungeons were absolutely mind-bending. Ocarina of Time was incredible, but I was a little older then, too.

I played Ocarina of Time first, but Majora's Mask really stuck with me. I think it's highpoints where far greater than Ocarina of Times, the entire build up to the 3rd temple from rescuing epona, battling bandits, racing beavers and infiltrating a Pirate Base, is probably my favourite Zelda moment ever. It also had a truly magnificent style to it, and some really nice art design.

I would love to see a spruced up version of this game on the Wii as the N64 version is so foggy and soft focus it's now impossible to play, and the less said about the gamecube disc the better.

I've only played Ocarina of Time on the GC. And its my favorite (haven't played A Link To The Past tho.) What's so unmentionable about it?

Yeah, that pirate base sequence was a lot of fun. Actually, playing as the fish version of Link was great as you could swim around then jump out of the water. You also got the badass fish bone guitar.

Why didn't you like the Gamecube version?

Never beat the NES versions as those two games are pretty damn hard.

It crashed, all the fucking time. Which wouldn't be so bad if not for the games brutal saving system.

"Huzzah, I've just defeated Gyrogog, now to go back to concert hall and finish this damn dungeon once and for all....

LINK FREEZES ON THE SPOT...

Fucking sonofabitch"

Ocarina of Time would be a perfect game if Navi didn't make you want to kill yourself.

Ocarina, definitely, though I have not played Wind Waker.

Yeah it's kinda telling that the fairy got stripped back in Majora's Mask and was non-existant in WW.

A Link to the Past gets my vote if only because I never finished Ocarina of Time. Fucking Water temple and the fucking key that is nowhere to be found.

I originally hated that temple, but gained a perverse respect for it. The Master Quest flavour can fuck right off and die though.
