Enjoy...

A) Your joke is waaay too forced.

B) Picking up chicks on myspace is lame

C) www.mydeathspace.com has been fabfunk's place to 'meet women' for years

You must not have read it all the way through. The source is irrelevant, her words are the key. And it's not so much a joke as I think it's true. You need to read the last paragraph. These kids were made for each other.

You have my apologies.

That sounds like a great match too. Although we might be assuming too much, it's highly probable that he's already had her down on the floor in some filthy bathroom stall.

Your usage of the word lame denotes the following definition: Pathetically lacking in force or effectiveness; "a feeble excuse"; "a lame argument". It doesn't fit. Why doesn't it fit? Because it's not in fact lame, alot of the people who do this sort of thing (ie Fabfunk) are undeniably lame, but you seem to be making the assumption that people that do this sort of thing do it because they couldn't get any otherwise and that whatever they are getting wasn't worth having in the first place, whether or not that underlying message is clear in your post, I think it's obviously part of the reason behind it. See you're not really saying meeting women online is lame, you're saying the people who do that are lame.

People have been using alternatives ways to meet people (ya know besides going to bars and clubs where you're not likely to find a very wide range of personalities anyway) for a long time now. Now it's a little more accessible than posting an add in the singles section of your local paper (now THAT is lame), and thusly more people are doing it. Not just pedophiles, nerds, and people who otherwise have really low standards.

Yeah...but our test samples around these parts easily fit into those three categories....

Jokes aside...I think the reaction is more toward myspace itself than the people utlizing it. Of course it isn't necessarily worse than any other social website. It is just the biggest fish right now.

This argument is lame.

I don't think I really needed to develope a really strong argument to begin with because your point was already weak.

I think it's a bit of both. But the argument is kind've out of place for a movie-geek message board, I mean do you guys really think this place is all that much different?

I don't think all that many of us are trolling CHUD for pussy, Chief.

Nice one Diva.

The composition of Heidi's headshot makes me think that Devin must have captured the golden moment himself, just before he whipped out his little Guitar Hero axe for a blazingly fast solo.

Not the point (although people do meet through message boards not to unlike this one), the community...the various discussions that take place...it's much the same, it's just alot smaller, and obviously geared towards a more specific line of discussion.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you live in small towns? Might seem like a strange question, but it's relevent. I mean I live in LA so I see things on a regular basis that are alot crazier than anything that's been brought up here. Even fabfunk would seem pretty moderate.

Only on CHUD could a few light-hearted remarks be taken as some small-town-influenced psuedo-puritanical statements and used to flex one's 'big city' cred.

Cthulhu, either you're an idiot, or you lack the ability to discern banter from a firm statement. Also, claiming that the internet isn't a lame place to pick people up (which I agree with), and then saying that personal ads in the paper are totally lame is asinine.

Or maybe I took that part of your post too seriously.

You're reading something into my post that I didn't insinuate. But you obviously DO NOT have the same perspective of these things that I do, that most people I know do (and that's alot of fucking people), so I can safely conclude that your ignorance on this matter is a product of your enviroment.

Oh, you make such a strong case, I mean just look at my posts, obviously I am lacking in intelligence, I mean really. How could anyone possibly not adhere to society's majority (I doubt it's actually the majority that think this, just a few outspoken dipshits like yourself) view things like meeting people online and that leading to any sort of sexual relationship as lame? You really pinned the tail on the donkey here.

I said I agree that it is NOT lame for something like that to happen. And I also have anything but puritanical views on relationships, but it doesn't matter, because I'm not going to post stories of conquest or sex-in-public on the internet because I have nothing to prove to you, you big big man you.

Also: Shane is a racist.
Seriously, are you from South Carolina? That may seem strange, but the point is relevant, judging from a lot of what you talk about.

What, you being a big fat racist?

Oh well apparantly I misunderstood that, you see, I can admit to my mistakes. You did say that my POV that meeting people through classified ads being lame (not really the best word...I would choose downright creepy and desperate) but meeting people online wasn't...was assinine, this point I absolutely have to disagree with. There's a huge difference between responding to a classified ad with the intent to get laid and engaging in a conversation with someone online that leads to meeting in person...and meeting a person that in turns leads to getting laid.

Of course there absolutely is a whole lame/creepy/weird/desperate side to meeting people online. I'll give you an example. My aunt (formerly, by marriage) divorced my uncle because she's a manipulative, two-faced, bitch. She met a guy online, a convicted felon, met him, fucked him, got impregnated by him, and married him after only knowing this guy in person for under a month. How fucked up is that?

Mistunderstanding or no...the fact that you continue to read things into my posts that I never insinuated really speaks about your ignorance because you're judging me without knowing all if any of the facts, apparantly you think I have some big ego to bruise, and you've constructed this view based on a few words of mine that you read online that I'm trying to prove something about myself here...I'm not, I don't need the constant approval of others because I'm happy with myself. But apparantly you're racist, so that kinda makes you ignorant by default.
