Yeah, I believe that. Another California idiot that I have to work with on a daily basis. You work with Mr. Scott? Yes, right.

Dickhead....that probably took a great deal of energy to get out. Take a drink and calm down, pal. Someone is getting under your skin.

You are manipulating words now, Butler. And you KNOW it. You did not come in here to simply critique the review, you came in here to join in the flaming. But go right ahead. You know absolutely NOTHING about my personality.

What are you jealous of? Look in the mirror real hard....REAL hard JG....and ask yourself that question every time you rip someone apart like you just did me for NO REASON WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING ME PERSONALLY just to join in an internet flame war.....ask that question and think very hard.

Hey man I only know what you show me.

But again, what exactly am I jealous of? Just answer that question for me and I'll gladly leave you to your devices.
Ok?

I am dumb, feel free to take the piss out of my bad grammar.

Firstly, as a review it was just way too long. You mentioned earlier, when called to task about spoilers contained within, that a spoiler warning wasn't needed as you assumed most of the board members have seen the film. The review was almost as long as the script. If you assumed we had seen it, you could have abridged it somewhat. Maybe you should have concentrated less on the story review and more on the technical issues, or lack of, on the new release. This is something that doesn't always get center stage on regular reviews and it's something I would be interested in.

Secondly, I agree sometimes Helix (you know him as Brad) can be a little harsh, but he just calls bullshit when he sees it. I don't always agree with how he says things but I always agree that bullshit has taken place.

Thirdly, you're new to the board. Can you give it a week or so before asking for people to be banned for flaming your thread? Think of it as constructive criticism, delivered by an arsehole relative. The delivery isn't fun but they have a point. If you direct your obvious literary prowess into adjusting your reviews for the board, I'm sure you can become a valuable member.

Ok, I’m done.

Come on man, is all of this seriously worth it. I get what you are trying to do which is to get your work noticed and move out of the freelance dept., but you're just going about this all wrong. All you have to do is simply write to some mods of major websites and submit your work and they'll get back to you. By submitting long ass reviews that you know no one will read (despite what you may say) your simply diging yourself deeper and deeper into a hole that noone will help you out of. Just pack up your shit and move on to other methods of getting noticed.

As for everyone else, just ignore him. All we're doing is giving this date rape accident more fuel for the fire.

"Hey man I only know what you show me."

Right....and you are making a massive assumption about someone over the god damned internet for heavens sake. You know nothing about me as a real person; you are seeing defense against harassment, that is all.

"But again, what exactly am I jealous of? Just answer that question for me and I'll gladly leave you to your devices."

I REALLY DOUBT you would ever leave anyone alone to their own devices being that you already engaged in this heated flame war, but if you really do not know what I am referring to, there are other issues going on here. Don't be jealous and throw hateful words out when all you need to do is say "can you give me some more information about the disc itself rather than the plot analysis?" Isnt that ALL you had to ask me rather than say what you said?

Actually, it's a fact. Ask nearly anyone on this board. Although I primarily have worked with Sir Ridley Scott, i have been instrumental in the creation of the DVDs for TOP GUN, MAN ON FIRE, ThE HUNGER & DOMINO.

So there. Dickhead.

"I am dumb, feel free to take the piss out of my bad grammar."

It is your members in here that call other people dumb first and foremost, and I never did first. So I wont be calling you that.

"Firstly, as a review it was just way too long."

It is a style that is accepted by some of the publications I write for when I do COMPLETE plot analysis pieces and then tack on the technical specs. That does not mean it should be pissed on. If there is a piece of the review someone needs to get to, like the video quality, then they can just skip to the bottom.

"You mentioned earlier, when called to task about spoilers contained within, that a spoiler warning wasn't needed as you assumed most of the board members have seen the film. The review was almost as long as the script. If you assumed we had seen it, you could have abridged it somewhat. Point taken, but I really did assume most everyone saw this and added in the plot spoilers warning afterwards.

"Secondly, I agree sometimes Helix (you know him as Brad) can be a little harsh, but he just calls bullshit when he sees it. I don't always agree with how he says things but I always agree that bullshit has taken place."

Whatever you and this "guy" want to call bullshit is your own issue; it's nowhere near bullshit and harassing someone is not the way to get a point across.

"Thirdly, you're new to the board. Can you give it a week or so before asking for people to be banned for flaming your thread? Think of it as constructive criticism, delivered by an arsehole relative. The delivery isn't fun but they have a point. If you direct your obvious literary prowess into adjusting your reviews for the board, I'm sure you can become a valuable member"

I suggested some people be repremanded for the behavior they have inducted here for apparently no reason; that's all. Thank you for your input though.

Hellboy, I hope you weren't the one that turned Gene Hackman into a ghost.
Seriously DJ Scotty, I will gladly leave you and your thread alone - I just want to know what I am so jealous of. And don't take this whole "Poor me I'm a victim of flaming" crap when you insulted every resident of Brooklyn, every resident of the entire goddamn state of California, made lame internet cool-guy accusations calling the members here cat-people with dirty underwear. You sir, are no more polite and noble then those you wish to have banned. Which, is one reason this thread caught my attention. Who the hell are you to request the banning of people who actually participate fully in this site and have for several years?

You're a guy who showed up out of noweher, posted a boring, not-good review, talked like you were the end-all be-all of DVD Reviewers and got downright hateful when people called bullshit.

First of all, I proved you wrong with your comment about "no one will read" but that's not even the point; what "hole" have I dug myself into that no one will get me out of? What the fuck did I ask you to get me out of?

Date rape accident.....now THAT'S funny. You must have been born in California, too. Another mindless mamaluke.

Remember what I posted to you, Butler. Remember and think hard. I was a victim of the horrendous flaming that went on during this thread. But do not be jealous, as I said.

No, we didn't do these new releases of CRIMSON TIDE & ENEMY OF THE STATE. They would have been much cooler if we had.

Trust me fella, I will not be jealous as there is nothing to be jealous of. Should I be jealous that you write DVD Reviews? Should I be jealous that your work gets published (giving you the benefit of the doubt on that one, guy)? Well I'm not. Believe me - I'm not jealous at all. Sorry if that bursts your bubble.

What's the status of a LAST BOY SCOUT special edition? Anything doing?

Hey, it's no biggie that a troll thinks I'm making it up. I still get to do the DVDs.

Well, that's something I couldn't really talk about. I'd love to work on that, though.

Scotty can't believe that someone who works in the film/DVD industry posts at CHUD? Where the hell's Don Murphy when you need him?

Cool, I hope that happens and/or you have some involvement in the rumored BLACK RAIN SE. Thanks!
Scotty, I'm genuinely curious: Why do you continue? It has been made abundantly clear that you are absolutely not appreciated on these boards. We did provide you a link to go post your reviews, where they can be met with all the constructive or negative criticism they can get and still fall under CHUD's guidelines. You continue to post in here, though, for some reason. You're the only one here who seems to think you're any good. It's not a big deal. Move on to another board. Or stay in this one, just in the correct forum. You're doing this to yourself.

I encourage you to seek review tips from resident CHUD member Spike1983. His reviews are of about the same quality as yours, but his reviewing style is a bit more economic (in my opinion, of course). In the space you've taken up defending your work and insulting people based on where they were born, he manages to fit in hundreds of reviews as intelligent, if not moreso, than yours.

[Edited to throw in a paragraph break]

DJ Scotty, I've seen you post your reviews on other boards before, mainly on the Home Theater Discussion and DVDFile forums as I visit those. I had also noticed that you tend to take things personally if someone posts something negative about your review or if you feel it's getting ignored. Knowing that Chud has a different vibe than other message boards I should've probably sent you a private message advicing you to either tone down your shtick here or face the shitstorm that we're now in. But as my three cats needed feeding and my underwear washing, I opted not to.

Something that is accepted on other boards or publications isn't necessarily the norm on others. Devin, the main contributor to the site (something you would be aware of if you'd gotten to know the place) adviced you on what the problem was and yet you ignored it and decided to make this thread about us not appreciating the effort you put into your review. And I've seen the same complaint about the length of your reviews elsewhere, so one would think you'd have a better argument to back it up at this point.

At this point you're not proving your point about us being pathetic losers (always the best comeback in every argument), you are just making an ass out of yourself and seriously hurting the little cred you might have as an DVD reviewer.

Sad.

Thanks again for explaining how I'm "not going to make it around here." It cleared a great many things up.
No no no, you misunderstood. I was merely attempting to bring to light Devin's tactful post which you proceeded to ignore. I am, however, behind you all the way on these merciless flamers. I have privately contacted The Administrator to rectify the situation and rest assured they will all be banished to oblivion. Happy.
