Are you really that fat guy from Star Trek?
I should've been clearer. By "call you on it" I meant the fact that you're an obvious attention whore.

And it's astonishingly easy to get under his skin. I prefer a bit more challenge than this.

The majority of your "review" is a LENGTHY summary of the film. Do we need a paragraph for every scene? Ridiculous. And lame.

All you computer nerds are making me laugh so hard.....thinking you are getting under my skin, thinking that Im dumb because I don't put "I'm" in its proper place when I am simply trying to type a bit faster than usual....all means I am "dumb" when if you really knew me, you would know that is simply and utterly untrue.....I'm an "attention whore"....right. Not true. But in your underwear sitting around with your six cats, like you losers are as internet trolls and predators looking to immediately "attack" new members of your precious board, I guess that is easy to do. Please, all of you, get a life and quick outside of harassing someone who wrote an online DVD review....Jesus...feed your six cats or something.

I did not put an "'" in I'm (because again I was typing quickly) so I am "dumb"....LMFAO. Right.

Yeah, and YOUR opinion, which really doesnt mean very much to me. In fact, it means dick. This was, incase you couldnt figure it out, a plot analysis which is the style in which I craft the reviews for other publications and sites and so I shared it here. It is not lame, but thats easy to swarth out towards someone from the comfort of your bedroom with your six cats next to you.

Write me one better, Neal.

You do realize that there's nothing more pathetic and computer nerd-ish than spending several hours writing in depth, thousands-of-words-long DVD reviews for zero money and spamming them across multiple message boards, right?

Welcoem to the party, pal.
Guys, we should probably stop. He's obviously suffering from some kind of disorder here.

No, even more pathetic are the people who write in and comment about it with nothing positive to say about it at all; honest, thats more pathetic.

Okay, let me make this clear because the real smart people in here are not getting it obviously: I am paid for freelance reviews from publications and supply them to discuss them on various sites, not for attention, not for any other purpose than to discuss the film with other fans who may want to pick up the DVD.

Can someone with a disorder continue to reply to your nonsense, Brad? Did you consider you have the disorder for continuing to harass someone?

Alobek was kind enough to offer you some good advice on why you have been met with hostility, and how to address the situation. You've chosen to ignore that, and then seem confused on the continuation of harrasment you are receiving. When one person actually criticizes your review, you respond using the same grade school playground banter you have been chastizing others for directing at you.

Your case for not being "dumb" is suffering greatly.

If that's the case, then you post a link to the original site that actually pays you for the reviews, put it in Shameless Links and Self-Promotion, and let the attention come to you. No doubt, your employers would definitely welcome the higher hit count.

This is like that psychology textbook stock photo of the sequence of paintings by an artist falling deeper and deeper into schizophrenia.

Except it's on a messageboard, and it's really dull.
DJ Scotty - I'm not going to pile on with the insults like everyone else here but let me give you a piece of sincere constructive criticism. Sometimes less is more. Check out these reviews for an example: http://chud.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89581

This statement, sir, does not even deserve a reply. I am shaking my head in absolute amazement; the entire rhetoric you spill above is hypocritical on so many levels. In other words, I get attacked -- but am powerless to do anything about it, right? As soon as I defend myself it is categorized as "playground antics" or whatever you refered to it as? You're kidding, right?

I am far from dumb, once again. The level of the opposite with regard to the membership in here for continuing to harass someone is beginning to rear its very ugly head in retrospect.

The sites do not pay me for the reviews, the publications do, so there is no link to provide; I don't consider them to be "shameless links" even so, but my point here was to discuss Crimson Tide Extended Edition.

I appreciate you not succumbing to the behavior of the other morons which populate this site, but excuse me sir, I have my own review style which is approved and applauded by those I work for, for years now. My point was to supply the thread with this review, which I wrote, and then discuss the film with fans of Crimson Tide.

I have contributed to the "Top 100 DVDs of all time" section for Home Theater Magazine, as well as their latest "Build The Ultimate DVD Library" issue which came out a few months back and do reviews for them on a freelance basis; I am very good friends with Maureen Jensen, their editor, and also contribute to DVD ETC. on a bi monthly basis.

Willing to discuss it now?

You don't really think I would give a real name on this site with all the harassment that has been going on personally to me, do you? That's one, and two, you are going to call them and ask them what.....and you are actually sitting there at home right now willing to chase someone you met on the internet -- let me get this straight -- around to the extent of a phone call to a magazine because you really have NOTHING BETTER TO DO?? THAT summed up for me the mentality of the average person on this site.

It's clear you wanted a thread full of congratulations on your review. You're not going to get that here so why not cut your losses and go to whatever forums you're obviously very much loved in. If we're the losers you think we are, why do you care about our opinions in the first place?

Your first comment is blatantly clear and hysterical (I wondered what you did up there in dem dere igloos!).

And no, I did not want a thread full of congratulations on my review, pal. I figured someone would want to discuss whether or not this new version of the DVD was good/not so good/etc.

The bitrate on this new release is a travesty.
If your goal was to actual discuss the disc with us, you would've actually read the DVD forum first, and found this, and posted a COMMENT there, not a review.

Instead you started a new thread dedicated solely to your little dissertation, and you look like a spammer as a result. The End.

Hewlett, my boy, come on....that's not that funny....I mean it was a bit, but not what I was expecting....

Seriously, though, the new anamorphic transfer on this extended cut looks leaps and bounds better than the original bare bones disc; have you had the chance to compare them?

No, no, that's not what I did crow....sorry. Indeed, I originally posted in the wrong place, which I stated I did, and would redirect it when I had a chance; however, my intention IS to discuss the disc with you guys. I reviewed it and posted it to discuss, that's all. If it is in the wrong place, again, my apologies. My intention was not to spam.

Yes. There are a few scenes in the new release where you can see right through Gene Hackman. He's translucent. Unless Tony Scott intended for Capt. Frank Ramsey to be a ghost, then I'd say the transfer has some problems. And no, it's not my DVD player.

On my particular setup, ISF calibrated to the max (), I did not observe such problems; in terms of the color differences and the bleeding/pixelation problems that have been cleared up, this was a tremendous leap forward....look carefully during the scene with Viggo Mortensen when he says "What the hell are we waiting for?"....in the old release, the reds behind him were horribly digitally pixelated and near-bleeding....this new transfer has cleaned this up and the royal blues in the background are stunningly bright now. There have also been some audio cues that have been cleaned up in the Dolby 5.1 mix, but it's still not that hot of a track to my ears.

Do you agree?
DJ Scotty - I'm pretty sure you're a jerk. And dumb. And a bigot. Insulting people who live in either Brooklyn or Los Angeles just proves all our points.

And you are too, my friend....the feeling is mutual....you too are a dick. And who gives a fuck what you think about my reviews? Your words are TEEMING with jealousy....mediocre at best....holy shit did that make me chuckle. But THIS is what I mean, administrators and those I talked to privately: I tried to bring the subject back to the DVD ITSELF, and a total asshole like this takes it off track again with these comments.....

But thanks for the awesome reply.

Hey man, you posted a thousand word DVD Review on a message board so I critiqued your review. You can't deal with that then don't post your reviews in a public forum. I hardly see how my critique of your review is off-track. The other stuff? Well that's just my critique of your personality (also proudly on display in a public forum).

Oh, and what exactly am I jealous of?
