Batman Continues - Page 18

The only problem with Schreiber is that he comes off as 'actorly smug'. There is something not instantly believable about him, it always seems like youre watching a performance.

To be fair, its more stage acting than drama school acting (stand up Phillipe). He was good in Sum of All Fears as well as RKO but Everything is Illuminated has shown where his real talent lies. Liev should film a few more movies and cement his name as a director, anything i else is a waste.

I just think we havent heard the right name yet.

Although, what would anyone think to him casting an actor he has worked with before?

Guy Pearce or even Hugh Jackman? Also not many british names being mentioned, surely its more likely to be a brit? (and yes, we have more actors than Clive Owen, before his name appears again)

I get what you're saying about Schreiber, but I thought he was pretty derned great in The Manchurian Candidate. That said....

...Russell Crowe would be totally tits. They'd never get him to do it, but it doesn't mean he wouldn't bring oodles to a film like Dark Knight.
Crowe would be good indeed - and i agree with Manchurian Candidate reference.

I keep thinking its going to be a Brit, sadly there are issues with each of my choices:

Bettany (contended for Joker), Owen (wants to seperate himself form blockbusters), Craig (Bond), Fiennes (Voldemort), Considine (not a bog enough name - although the dude can out DeNiro DeNiro).

Then again,

Cillian conteded for Batman, Bale avoids blockbusters, Craig and Fiennes have big characters assigned to them - but he cast Jackman in Prestige all the same, Murphy is only slightly better known than Considine.

Any candidates that havent been mentioned?

Harrison Ford.

Cant be?! I heard they just started shooting Indy 4 a week ago. Thatll keep him busy for the next few months, surely...

You heard wrong.

Harrison Ford could be really cool, but I don't think he's anywhere near willing to do it. One, he's in an artistic freefall that depresses me and two, he's a pretty notoriously grumpy guy who I just don't envision enduring hours of make-up every morning to play in a movie based on a "funny book'.

Ford is an atrocious choice in any case.

Obviously some dont get basic sarcasm - Ford as Dent is as ridiculous as him filming Indy 4....

Thanks for playing with me though...

To be the District Attorney for a major city like Gotham, Ford actually works better from an age standpoint than most of the other young guys they've mentioned. You could get a mentor relationship between Batman and Dent rather than a brotherly/partner dynamic. Plus, Ford's a great actor. So I don't know what would make him more "atrocious" than the names mentioned thus far.

Still, it will never happen.

There's nothing sarcastic about:

Nothing. Unless you're working on some new, experimental form of sarcasm which involves the complete lack of humor or insight. If that's the case, then kudos!

Not rising to that, Im afraid - I know what I said. And yes, it is sarcasm at a cellular 'Bill Murray-like' level.

The Harrison Ford thing came out of nowhere and doesnt deserve much talking about.

To be honest, the next post shuld be a confirmation of who is being cast and/or sneaky shots from set. Not an attempt to start a thread-arg just cos you couldnt see the obviousness of my statement. Last I have to say on that....so really, thanks for playing.

This from the guy who thinks that 300 deserves all the awards SIN CITY failed to receive without having even seen it. The only thing that's obvious in your posts is that you're talking out of your ass...but then stubbornly defend yourself when called on it.

"Is there gonna be a fight Wyatt?"

"I think there must be."

Um, I thought the same thing as Litmus, didn't sound sarcastic at all. You do understand that reading posts is not quite the same thing as talking face to face with another human being, right?

Stop fighting. Let's talk about cinematic ass sex among the Batman cast.

Christian Bale? Check. (Velvet Goldmine)
Heath Ledger? Check. (Brokeback Mountain)
Gary Oldman? Check. (Prick Up Your Ears)
Cillian Murphy? I didn't see Breakfast On Pluto, but likely not.
Liam Neeson? Alluded to in Kinsey, but no.
Morgan Freeman? Hell no.
Katie Holmes? I wish.
Did Michael Caine ever take one up the aft passage? Besides JAWS THE REVENGE?

No, I believe he took it often in that one. Man, what an, um, experimental cast.

Now was that another blatantly obvious statement that was supposed to be funny(since they aren't even shooting it yet), or are you just really that stupid?

ANYWAY, I've recently came to the conclusion that I'm going to shit my pants at the first sight of a teaser trailer, being as though I inspected every frame of the BB trailers carefully under a magnifying glass while masturbating.

They ought to get Sam Waterston to play Two-Face.
Robert Davi and some spackle.

It was a blatantly obvious one to counter the blatantly obvious lie of Harrison Ford being up for the role......simple......as anyone on a 'movie' site should obviously know. (You didnt feel stupid informing us that its not shooting yet, I think Chud patrons would have some clue sonny jim).

seriously darling? People are THAT angry about that? That could be the most uncalled for, pointless attack Ive ever had...because of that? Some people really need to jump out of their rooms and reconnect to the planet a little.

The 300 post is completely out of context and, more importantly...made a few months back, in a different board, right? - well to explain that, not that I should, it was a statement about how movies are changing and that they should be awarded for creating those pure universes - Sky Captain and Sin City didnt clean up - 300 has a more epic tale to it than Gladiator in some respects...therefore could win awards and should for the achievement....'talking out my ass'....absoloutely, sweetheart!

And no amount of someone 'typing' at me can ever get to me - so dont really know what to say - apart from this aint aintitcool. Its fairly clear who needs to out their insecurities at life into a 'film message board'. Cant even begin to imagine making myself care - so i'l just carry on posting, alright?

You should be ashamed of being so small, thats my final word on it. Dont argue when there isnt an argument.

On this board the only thing that should be ridiculed is the endless Harvey Dents mentioned - something I was making a point about initially.........twat.

I think "The Dark Knight" is a piece of shit! Let's tango!
