Nice review, Ian.

My only exposure to Silverman was in that Comedy Central's Last Laugh when she did the song and her vagina sang backup. I thought it was pretty lame, but really good word of mouth keeps hitting me about her (including your review) so I'll pick this up. Thanks!

If there is anyone less funny than Sarah Silverman, please let me know. I have given her chance after chance to amuse me, and she keeps getting shut out.

I am less funny than Sarah Silverman.

Saw this last night...yawn. The only part that made me laugh out loud was the Ron Jeremy pinkie gag. I don't know why but that got me funny bone. the rest was about 40% funny with a lot of miss and miss in between. She was good in the aristocrats though.

Larry the Cable Guy? Carlos Mencia? MAD TV?

Benedict XVI.

But they are not even remotely funny.

Ah, the Comedy Central Trifecta of AssSuckery.

Sorry...didn't see this thread.

"If you're easily offended, please pick up this movie and then write nasty letters to me. You could fucking use it."

--brilliant.

The movie is very funny but I beg to differ on the it's not repetitive front. That, not the skits, is its biggest problem. Every joke uses the same setup so after a handful of shockers you can pretty much guess the insert twist punchline here.

Still, though, the flick is hysterical, if only upon first viewing. I dunno how it'll hold up a second time.

What are you talking about? There's absolutely nothing wrong with her tits!

I agree. I think she is gorgeous, but notoriously humor-free.

Super duper unfunny.

Like noted above, her comic act consists of her saying something totally RAUNCHY!! CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE SAID THAT? SHE"S SO CRAZY!!

Just a horrible movie that I wished I had walked out of.

It's completely in her dead-pan delivery. I agree that it's formulaic but it's her performance that elevates it above shtick.

I laughed.

Yeah, I dig the way she tells the jokes on stage and songs were a mixed bag, but unfortunately, I really hated all the sketches. It's a shame to see a guy like Bob Odenkirk being unfunny for once.

Seriously, that part hurt my feelings. I was so excited to see Bob and then that excitement slowly devolved into utter sadness.

I think she's funny.

I also think arguing about whether someone's funny or not is a really great way to spend an afternoon, cause god knows, if you explain why someone or something is funny to those who believe that someone or something is in fact the opposite of funny, lots of mind will be changed. This also works when discussing abortion.

am i the only one that finds her really fucking hot.... damn you jimmy, damn you to hell man!

she was in Maxim's hot 100 so you are not alone.

What happened to the funny Sarah? She's a great talk show guest but she was horrible in the movie. She got funnier towards the end but she wasted her opprotunity for what should have been great. And her Aristocrats joke sucked.

Favorite joke was the one where 60 million was unforgiveable. The Ron Jeremy pinkie joke was good too.

Any joke that ends with "Joe Franklin raped me" is fucking brilliant. Might be an east coast thing, though.

She had one of the funniest jokes in the Aristocrats, second only to Doug Stanhope.

Then I'm glad I haven't seen that movie yet. Shame because it looked good. If she's the 2nd best it doesn't have much going for it.
It's certainly not as funny as I hoped it would be, but it wasn't terrible.
I didn't care for it either. I like her approach, but I don't like most of her jokes. They aren't particularly offensive to me because I am both hardened and jaded, they just weren't all that funny.

I still think she's cute as fuck, though.

The film is terrible through and through but her "Fuck my tuchus!" bit made me smile. And hard.

EDIT: She knows what guys want...

Is this the same woman that asks Ryan Phillipe at the start of THE WAY OF THE GUN whether he likes to fuck baby heads, and then gets promptly punched in the face? Because that makes her awesome in my book.
