What were his thoughts, if you don't mind repeating?

He thought it was shitty of Paramount to cite his personal behavior and publically slight him like that. They should have just thanked him for making them a gajillion dollars over the last 15 years and left it at that.
Stern certainly knows what it's like to be openly bashed by people who got rich of your work. He's makes a good point.
I'm counting on Sal to take it over the top. The busting on Gary has been on autopilot for a long time (sans Sal's occasional hijinx) so I'm looking forward to some new ground to be broken.

Yucko the Clown's rants on Robin during the 'meanest listener' contest gave me enough douche chills for a while.

I'm hoping for a Robin roast.

It's surreal to be listening to some of these classic shows this weekend.
Just heard the DaBella Funeral... I think it's like 20 years old. Anyone else catching some of the All Request Weekend stuff?

Being from the Philly area I remember the DeBella funeral well. As a matter of fact I used to listen to DeBella's "Morning Zoo" in the 80's and it was this broadcast that really turned me on to Stern. Years later after he and stern made up on the air DeBella went to the affiliate station here. He was phased out later on and is now doing another morning show on a popular classic rock station here complete with a female sidekick and a kind of goofy news & traffic guy.

I was listening to the tapes all weekend doing projects around the house. I never heard the full Grandpa Al Lewis "Fuck the FCC" show. Now I am complete. Also, Conan O'Brian vs. Billy West as the Jackie Puppet was hysterical. I've always loved Billy. If he had stuck around Artie would have never had the chance to replace Jackie.

Did they play the big Robin/Fred fight when Fred walked off the show?
Not sure about the Robin/Fred fight...

I'm from the around-Philly area too. My aunt worked at WMMR back in the DaBella days. I remember DaBella bouncing around to different stations... what's he on now, 102.9? Since Sirius I haven't listened to regular radio for quite some time.

A friend of mine at work had an interesting idea about the tapes - have a "This day in Howard Stern Show History" schedule and replay certain shows or clips on anniversary dates of when they happened. That way they can schedule their content and have some kind of calendar so you know when to tune in to stuff.

Whatever they do, I'd prefer they start a third channel or kick some of channel 101's programming to the curb and put it there. Shows like Red Peters and Super Fan Roundtable just take up space...

Yeah, I'm not big on the other station's content. Some small soin-off shows are nice, but Bubba and Ferrell? If I want to hear Stern clones I can tune in to Opie & Anthony for free.

Holy crap, this Hodeo thing is awesome.

And did anyone else see the pics of that Jessica girl that rode the Sybian for tickets to the Beer League premiere? She had a hot body, but she looked like Eric Stoltz in "Mask".
Yeah, I'm not sure why they called her hot and pretty. The pictures on the site make her out to be pretty frightening. Loving the Hodeo.
Holy cow, that Jessie Jaymes chick is hot.

And I think it's mere months before Sal is either arrested, beaten up, or shot. Or all of the above.

Sal + Humiliation = Laughs
Man, I feel so bad for Artie. He sounded really down after he talked about the heroin thing. He needs another movie or TV show to focus on. And those strippers need to come back and dance for him.
Artie just jumped a few notches in the death pool. Listening to the replay, it almost sounded like he wanted to finally get the truth out.

The silence after Benji was yelled at was priceless. There was some genuine drama going on in there today.
That reporter from the Post that first wrote the article last week about Stern going back to testicular radio got fired. Heh. Seems everyone knew he was also a radio consultant...except for his boss. When he found this out, he fired the guy. Now he's pissed at Stern. From his website:

Quote:
Mainelli told Radar that Stern has been upset with him in the past, but he still remained a fan until now. "I'm very disappointed, and I'm really pissed at Howard Stern," he told the Web site. "From now on, anything I write about him will have to have a disclaimer: John Mainelli has an ax to grind against this man."

Wasn't it the pressure of the movie that got him on the H? Artie needs to do the next Celebrity Fit Club.

It's amazing how different Artie looks from Beer league to now. maybe he should go back on coke.
Wow. Lois Lane is blasted on Stern's show and leaves crying. Makes for great radio, though.
That's what she gets for making Butterfly Effect 2.
Sounds like the Friday Show is slowly being replaced with Master Tape Theater. I was actually getting used to it.

The Friday Show would work much better with some charismatic hosts.
I like Mastertape Theater if only because they played the day Fred "quit" the show. I couldn't figure out why that didn't make it into the Labor Day Top Ten show.

I'd also like to add that the only roast I want to see is a ROBIN roast.

It wasn't played on Labor Day because those clips were edited to about an hour at most. They were holding off on "Rainbow Room" because it evolved throughout the entire length of the show, and they said it was difficult to edit down.

That's their reasoning anyways.

I've been listening to a compilation of recordings that chronicle the "Win John's Job" saga. Collectively, there's lots of great stuff there, too.

Alec Baldwin killed this morning! "Lose the black chick in the aquarium."
I know this is a couple of days old, but it's worth mentioning.

Sal continues to be the best part of the Wrap Up Show. His rants are just unbelievable. While I understand the general dislike for John Hein and the Wrap Up Show, he's really damn good at getting Sal revved up, while appearing to stay neutral.

I'm beginning to agree with the rest of the gang in thinking that the Erica Durance "nude parties" story was either a lie or a huge stretch of the truth.
Agreed - I also call bullshit on the Erica Durance stories. Although it's nice to imagine that happening anyway...

I like the Sal rants, but at this point they happen so often that it's like a stand-up routine for him. I can almost picture him sitting there reading a rant from a list of 'crazy Sal-isms'.

Baldwin killed, Saget killed, Dice killed, and poor Artie seems to have no conflict resolution skills. He just sounded beaten down by the end of Dice's appearance.

I want to dress up like Dracula Gottfried for Halloween. That was some funny shit.

I never got to listen to Howard regularly at any time, so all this stuff is new to me.

They replayed Dracula Gottfried?! Holy shit, I have to tune in tonight. Was it the episode when they dressed him up to ask questions on the street and he bombed? One of the great Gottfried moments.
Nothing, of corse, tops Gilbert's dinner with the holocaust survivor. Nothing.
His rant about how he was in Vietnam almost made me crash my car. Priceless.
Man, this morning has been insane. Elliot Offen on a tirade (even moreso than usual), Penny Crohn destroys a fake trophy, and Mike Walker is drunk doing the Gossip Game. Awesome radio. And I didn't even tune in until 8 AM.

EDIT: Jeez, and now Howard's actually dumped out TWO times in this conversation with Bob Schimmel. Wow. What a crazy morning.

why did he dump out?
Bob started into this story about why he's pissed off at his wife, and he started mentioning people's names and where they work, and live, and stuff like that.

And did you guys hear the call using Ronnie's voice with the guy that went nuts? That was great. "I'll pay you to see me! I'll pay you to see me! What's your address? WHAT'S YOUR ADDRESS?!?!?!?"

The calls using Artie's rant against Dice are also really funny.
DONE DEAL, PAL!

Today's show was utterly insane. Artie v Crazy Alice never gets old.
Aside from his earth-shattering fart, this was the greatest Mike Walker appearance ever.
The Bitter Half was alright, but Gilbert Gottfried was hysterical as Mr. X.
I missed Bitter Half, but I did hear the Pete Townshend stuff . . . Once Robin brought up the child porn, I had a feeling ol' Pete wouldn't show up. The stuff with Roger Daltrey ended up being great, though.

It did have some funny parts, though. I was surprised at how funny Beth O. was.
Missed the Bitter Half and the Roast last week, but man, yesterday was like an unintentional Gary Roast... they were pushing him to the breaking point.

Done deal pal. Done deal.

Gary should have smashed Sal's face in with a fire extinguisher. Poor ra-ra-retard.
There will be that day that Sal goes over the line and a classic will be born. No way Sal makes it the entire five years.

The Borat interview was funny, but nothing special.
Tracy Morgan is KILLING.
The news with Gottfried this morning was hysterical.
Oh man, the Gary screw up pronouncing "MAC-HINE" was golden. That's awesome stuff.
I don't know about you guys, but I love Howard's constant commentary on Artie's love life. As funny as "Dana" is, I think Grandma Caprio is my new favorite character.
I thought Heidi Cortez's appearance was awesome - sure, a little annoying, but the sybian ride and dirty stories were worth it. The thought that guys were uh, handling themselves to Jason's story is hysterical.

MA-KINE!

MAC-HINE is the greatest thing in the history of the world (with the sound clips of Gilbert's lunatic laughter a close second). Fred randomly playing the short "MAC-HINE" when Gary talks is just hysterical.

Last Thursday's show is one of the best they've done. That girl that won Artie's Dating Game was so adorable it isn't even funny.
Congrats Artie on your FOX development deal. You'll be found dead in your bungalow on the FOX lot in two years from a heroin overdose. Good times.

Tina Fey is actually pretty funny today.
Man, those "America's Hottest Ex-Con" chicks are FUCKED UP. I thought I knew some crazy girls in college. Holy cow.
Ugh, 2 Sybian rides in a row crap out. That French(?) chick was annoying, and the 50 yo porn star was just boring. That being said, the shows this week have been great. Lots of fun in-house fighting and arguing, and the whole Xmas gift thing has been hilarious.
Probably the most amusing shows to me are when they have to give or exchange gifts to each other. It gets so petty and ridiculous. I love it.
