Well that's good, I forgot to switch off from quarterly billing and just got the next three months billed, so, yay.
Howard dragging it out as long as he did became 1000% worth it the moment Sal broke down.

I knew he wouldn't want to go through the trouble of restarting elsewhere, or self-producing his own show. Sirius leaves him alone, and takes care of most of those hassles. Now all he needs to do is move the live show to either noon or the afternoon so he can stop bitching about the hours.

Who's more relieved by the re-signing? Gary now that he has that new house in Connecticut? Benji? Will/Jason/JD?

All of them, I don't believe there is one person on that staff that could hold on to any other job, maybe John Heim(sp).

In the studio, only Fred. Robin's tv show appearances would dry up pretty quick and, she would quickly fade away. Fred supposedly is a very talented writer.

Is it me, or are the "History of" segments a lot shorter this time?

Heard the Jesus Twins on the way into work this morning...those guys were awesomely assholish. Also was interesting to hear about the Bubba and Rosie feuds. Thought it was kind of funny how Howard told Bubba, "Seriously, I don't know who you are."

And speaking of Bubba, now that it looks like he's off SiruisXM, he's flooding Twitter with RTs of people saying they're canceling their subscriptions. Personally, I liked Bubba, especially when he first started, but then after his first contract came up, and all he did was bitch about getting re-signed, it then felt like that's all I ever heard was how under appreciated he was, etc., which got old in a hurry. And now he continues the complaining post-SiriusXM. I'll check out the "Other Situation" on Radio IO, but I don't think it will replace my Sirius.

What bugs me is the rumor that Ferrall isn't being renewed either. In the early morning, that gave me a nice alternative to a Howard commercial or ESPN Radio.

As for Bubba, I started listening to the show less and less. Maybe was catching it at the wrong time, but it really wasn't appealing to me. Hopefully he can find a situation that works for him.

Ferrall was re-signed by Sirius about 2-3 months ago--he talked about it on his show. I was listening coming back from travelling in October and heard him talking about it. Actually, he was even on the air last Friday. He's apparently been sick so he hasn't been on. I was wondering if they didn't re-sign Howard, what they were going to do with Ferrall since they had just re-signed him back.

One of the guys at TSS Radio (who sells SiriusXM hardware, check them out at TSS-Radio.com--shameless plug) and I were talking this morning--it cracks me up how Bubba is RTing all these people "cancelling" their subscriptions because of him not being signed, yet he continues to go with the Radio IO thing and even invested in the company. Apparently he wanted 1 more year as simulcast on FM, then Sirius exclusive for 4 years, in addition to Radio IO (2 hours a day). So regardless of the Sirius deal, he was going to Radio IO, but kept spinning it as they were waiting on Sirius (who is telling callers that he resigned). As the guy I was talking to said, "This is like the kid who has now thrown the Monopoly board across the room because he didn't win." Someone even asked him why he was negotiating with Sirius if he already knew he was going to Radio IO regardless. Remember when all Bubba's listeners "cancelled" when he went to the FM broadcast and 1 day a week live? I do (did?) like Bubba's show, but I'm over him. Bring on Ellis!

I've been flipping back and forth between Howard and Bubba for almost ten years now, it'll be weird to not have them together (Bubba was in the local Florida markets when I was in high school pre-firing). I'm glad Ferrall's back though, out of all the shows on Howard 100/101 I've probably listened to Scottie more than anyone except for Howard.

Sh-sh-shake it uuuuuuup.

Did you hear the shows where he was doing that? I couldn't stop laughing when he said that.

Listening to History Of this week, I can't help but keep thinking back to Chris Rock completely lambasting the History Of. "And then came Ba-Ba-Booey....man shut the fuck up."
I was listening this morning (on my Sirius iPhone app 'cause Stern's on there now! Yay!) and hearing the "coming up this week", I realized I'd heard most of those highlights already due to other specials, etc., especially the Gary tape (which always make me laugh, regardless). But I swear, I've heard that bit about 10 times now in past replays.

You wouldn't let your kids sit in the super nice chairs while you sit in an over-priced stool like a chump?

Yet another reason why I'm never having kids. Super-nice chairs all the way.

I know what you mean. They're starting to get to the point in the timeline where I remember hearing some of these things on the radio as they were actually happening, but around Private Parts I was still so young that most of it was lost on me anyways. I definitely remember hearing the Jesus Twins as it was happening and not having any clue what was happening.
Well, it's officially official--Bubba's stuff is off the Sirius website, and he'll start some kind of live/replay shows on Radio IO.com this week, and start with his new schedule on FM and there on 1/11/11. Sirius hasn't updated their schedule for H101 yet, but Ferrall cranks back up again tomorrow night. Be interested to hear what they're going to put on H101 during the afternoons.
Holy cow, Bubba is a train wreck today. I listened to some of the replay Radio IO show, and Bubba was bitching about the board op not wanting to talk to them on the air, which led into "I hate Cox. Cox sucks. I hate it here. I want to go back to Clear Channel. You hear that Clear Channel? I want to come back. I'll sit out for a year. I don't care." And then later on apologized to his Cox bosses. The only way you can get the show on mobile is using the mobile version of the Radio IO website, which was up and down all day long.

Plus, it looks like you'll have to pay $9.99/mo at some point to get his show. $3 less a month than Sirius, with .01 percentage of the channel options. Good luck with that.
The show is fucking terrible. No Bubba now as well, the channels are a complete mess. Howard is mailing it in on this contract.

The psycho-analysis stuff this morning was fun.  Especially since Robin was part of the "Crazy 3".  And Ronnie...poor Ronnie.

Wow...Adam Carolla just announced that his podcast will simulcast on H101 starting next week.  No specific time yet, but I'm assuming 6 PM ET, probably a 2 hour show, which would lead into Ferrall.  Fucking cool.  I guess next week is a test run to see how it goes.

Yeah he will actually be doing it live, not just replaying the podcasts. Apparently it's some sort of try out for the bubba slot I guess. I was always hoping Adam would head over to Sirius and this way he gets the best of both worlds. Sirius money and the podcast money.

Carolla said it will be a few more weeks before he's on...technical issues on the Sirius side.

I was talking to one of the guys that runs a portion of the "Bubba Fan Network" website (so to speak), and told him about the Carolla show simulcast.  He tweeted about it, and the expected backlash began.  He and I both agreed that he's not "replacing" Bubba, he's just there doing a show, and we both agreed that the fans (and Bubba) will never see it that way.  I also said that I guarantee that Carolla has never heard of Bubba, which would probably further Bubba's rage against him.

Also, Howard mentioned again this morning that he's still hopeful in getting Bubba back...but he said Bubba isn't doing himself any favors with what he's been saying.  Howard also admitted he'd probably be lashing out too if he were in the same situation.

Howard's killing on Letterman. They have great chemistry.

Holy shit, Ellis is killing it again on Howard.  I'm dying over here.  Ellis put like 30 clamps on his dick, and then had George take them off.  George started screaming for him to stop putting the clamps on his penis at one point.  Ellis screaming while George took the clamps off had me on the floor.

Oh, and update on Carolla on H101...Carolla says it's off, and not his decision.  So who knows what happened.

So, what was up with Todd Phillips giving the business to Robin a couple of days ago on the show?  Rightfully so, I might add.

Todd Phillips is a great guest, as he doesn't hold back on much.  Apparently he had said something to Howard a little while back about Robin, and Howard told Robin about it right before they got Todd on the phone.  I love it when someone engages Robin.  I think she's almost a caricature of herself now.

I tried listening to the Kevin Bacon interview, but I couldn't hold on.  Bacon seems like a great guy all around, but man, he just didn't seem to have any "excitement" during the interview.  But I think that's just his personality.  Very low-key.

It was a money thing, shame how bad the show has become.

What the hell happened this week?  They were on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and now off the rest of the week?  Is that part of the "new deal"?  Once a month they get a 3-day week?

Every other week is a three day week. Rumor has it after the summer vacation every week is a three day week. Tellin ya man Howard is just getting paid on this contract. He totally doesn't give a shit, I would be surprised if he goes five years depending on the outcome of the lawsuit.

You know what I've noticed about my listening habits lately?  I listen to Carolla's podcast as soon as I get to work, then I switch to the Playboy Morning Show at 10 AM ET (or later), then I bounce between other podcasts and some stuff on S.I.R. (Kevin Smith's Internet Radio network), and lastly Jason Ellis in the afternoon.  I will listen to Stern on my way to work (only about a 20 min drive) and if there are repeats on everything else.  I really don't listen as much as I did a year or so ago.  So maybe it's appropriate that he's not going to be on as much.

Remember Bubba The Love Sponge?  Well, apparently he's going insane.  Divorcing his wife and constantly harrassing her via Twitter, and now RadioIO, which was $300 for the "early enlisters" for the lifetime membership, is now FREE.  So if you paid that money, it was for nothing.  There is also some apparent investigation related to the company that owns Radio IO because of all his comments on when to buy, what to buy, etc.  And lastly, some guy has taken it upon himself to try and "calm down" Bubba, which of course has just led to Bubba going even more crazy, with him sending threatening messages to the guy and having members of the "Bubba Army" have also threatened the guy, his family, and one of them even threatened to kill his dog.  Stern was even reading on air some of these Tweets that Bubba had deleted.

EDIT: Ha ha, Bubba thought he figured out who the guy is that's giving him "advice" via Twitter, but apparently not.  http://saintpetersblog.com/2011/10/a-statement-on-the-current-hostilities-with-bubba-the-love-sponge/

Wow, Howard announced he is officially the new judge on America's Got Talent (replacing Piers Morgan).  This will make interesting radio for the Sirius show.  He complained endlessly when he was filming his movie while doing the radio show years ago.  Angry Howard => Radio Gold.

Also: Even more vacation tapes upcoming in 2012 (as predicted by me).

He has always wanted this -- it's like his dream job.  I've never watched any of these shows but I'll have to watch if Stern is a judge.

Update on Bubba--if anyone cared--his move to RadioIO went so poorly that they are now giving away his show in syndication.  He's getting "paid" by them allowing him to advertise whatever he wants on his show.  Infomercial-wise, I guess.  Also, the folks that paid the $300 for the "Golden Ticket" program and got Bubba subscriptions for life on RadioIO?  Yeah, they started putting the show out there for free about 2-3 months ago to try and attract advertisers.  That would be like buying a lifetime subscription to Sirius for $300, and then a year later they just decided to give it away?

Also, someone asked if he was coming back to satellite, and he said, "working on it".  Wow.  This from the man who, barely a year ago, shit all over Sirius and called every one of the higher ups douchebags and idiots for not signing him to a Howard-like contract.  Supposedly he's going broke because the RadioIO stuff has tanked, some of his sponsors have left, and of course his divorce.  I wonder if Howard would have him back--I'm guessing he would.  If I was Tim Sabean, I wouldn't take any of Bubba's shit this time, and just basically say, "If you don't like it, you can go back to RadioIO again."

And supposedly Bubba is trying to sell SiriusXM on taking his radio show--not the RadioIO uncensored one, but the terrestrial radio version.  And apparently the answer is "No thanks."

Oh, and Bubba threatened to kick a guy's ass if he ever showed up at the studio, even going as far as making a date for the fight.  Guy showed up--Bubba feigned knowledge of anything, even after commenting on it the day prior.  His twitter feed has mostly turned into ads for his racetrack and his racing sponsors.  Yikes.

Bubba confirmed on his show this week that SiriusXM said, "Thanks, but no thanks."  Ha ha.

Caught a little bit of the show this morning--he had Bubba on at one point, and as he was signing off, Bubba said, "Please bring us back...we're dying over here."

Haven't watched AGT from last night yet, but I hear it was great.
