Stephen King must be able to wipe his ass with royalty checks by now.

If ever there was a Stephen King book in dire need of a remake, it's "It". In my opinion, the only thing that worked in the original minseries was Tim Curry. Hopefully, they'll dig past the "giant spider" aspect that the old series relied upon and explore the more Lovecraftian aspects of It. I'd also like to see more exploration of the town history as it was depicted in the novel. Also, they must keep Mick Garris away from it (his involvement would be scarier than anything King could ever write).

They should just remaster the original, and then tack on a totally different ending. No one's gonna touch Tim Curry's Pennywise.

I am STILL frightened by Tim Curry's Pennywise.

ugh.. [shudder]

I still hate Harry Anderson and John Boy

Tim Curry as Pennywise is unbeatable. HELL, cast him again! No one would notice under tons of make-up.

I liked the first hour of the old IT tv movie, but I thought the second was just repetitive and lame.

btw, did anyone see DESPERATION with Ron Perlman? If so, how is it?

Desperation was shit, pure and simple. I really liked the book, but Garris made a complete mess of the movie. Pearlman was good, but nothing else worked. When will old Mick learn that King's dialogue doesn't translate well to screen?

Let's hope they leave out the stuff with the one kid giving the bully a blowjob. Ick.

I tried to re-watch this last christmas and it was terrible. The kid actors didn't work, John Ritter seemed distracted, Annette O'Toole was dull. Snoozeville.

Overrated book and even worse movie.
