Has anybody else seen this? I've watched it a few times (showing it to friends), and it's on Comedy Central right now. There's a lot to enjoy about this movie, regardless of the remake factor. Anybody else a fan?

I've never seen it, but since the DVD is available at Big Lots for $3.99, I'll be willing to take the risk now that I know somebody has actually seen it and liked it.

I remember seeing it a few years ago and liking it well enough. The story is a bit ho-hum, but the actors in it (Sam Rockwell, Luis Guzman, George Cloony) were great in it. The directors were Anthony & Joe Russo, who went on to direct many episodes of Arrested Development.

I believe these guys directed "You Me And Dupree" and ten to one it's not as amusing as this film. Lightweight trifle, with a lot of fun performances. I particularly like William H. Macy, and Luis Guzman yelling at everyone never gets tired. Plus, Sam Rockwell in another hilarious turn, and the enticingly sexy Patricia Clarkson.

Caught this on Netflix Instant, and it's a really fun, breezy caper elevated by a ridiculously stacked cast.  I particularly like how the surreality and slapstick keep escalating throughout, until the final heist seems to be oscillating between Marx brothers and Three Stooges territory.  Not a classic or anything, but one of those I could see getting sucked easily into if I came across it on cable, you know, back when people actually flipped through the channels.   Really surprised to see Clooney pop up, but the stars are definitely Rockwell ("He, uh, had syphillis.  As a baby.") and Macy ("Hello, young woman.  I would shake your hands but I'm inspecting these bottles.").

Reading that the directors worked on Arrested Development makes a ton of sense in hindsight.

Yeah Im a fan, its kinda old fashioned and screwball but theres a ton of great throwaway lines, and at least one sequence that particularly ticked me (Michael Jeter's nappy thing falling down)
