I may have to go chapter 13 also!!!!!!!!

what's the new Brazil about? Is it like the old Criterion? I heard nothing of this one.

Didn't the ultimate DVD of Brazil get released a few years ago? I could of sworn that I saw something at Best Buy with the regular version and Gilliam's version.

Yeah, how much more complete a Brazil set can we get than the one that's already out?

The new set is a remaster from Criterion-- anamorphic 16:9, at least for the main feature. Presumably all the extras remain the same. That's enough for me.

From what I've heard, the Brazil disc will just be a brand new transfer, same extras as before, same spine number. I could be wrong though.
*edit- Hammerhead beat me to it.

I already own the Criterion Brazil and Seven Samurai, so I'm not sure about a double dip, even if the SS discs are fantastic. I love the movie, just don't watch it often enough. Brazil is one of my all-time favorites, but still, I'll need a bit more disposable income to be double dipping that one. Both films were in hardcore need of some cleaning up though, so that's a plus. Hopefully Yojimbo's on the list too.

There are a lot of hardcore Criterion collectors out there though, perhaps the old discs won't be worthless and we can get some trade-in towards the new ones.

I wish Criterion would offer some kind of arcane discount deal for those who already shelled out when they weren't doing anamorphic transfers.

Wasnt the Super Mega version of Blade Running comming out in Sept too
post #10 of 17
What's different about the Clockwork Orange disc? I haven't been able to find anything on it.
With regard to United 93, the disc might be interesting from the point of view of extras, but it's not a film I could imagine watching again and again.

Yeah Callaghan, get with the programme. BLADE RUNNER DC two-disc in September.

Mega super version is in 2007 for the 25th anniversary.

You're still buying DVDs?
anyone else notice how united 93 is coming out the week of 9/11. would never be the one to shout "too soon" but this seems kind of shady.
What's tasteless to me is the planned "UNITED 93: Tricked Out Edition" that's set for release in '07. What's the point of that?

I won't be making it to September:

7/11 - Road House: Deluxe Edition

7/18 - Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

7/25 - Pinky & The Brain: Vol. I and Animaniacs: Vol. I

8/15 - Simpsons Season 8

8/29 - The Tick: Belated 10th Anniversary Edition

I think 7 Samurai is actually the Criterion title I'm least interested in for September. I am so psyched to be able to get Playtime, and I've wanted to see Spirit of the Beehive and Hell for years.
