So, it's The Gong Show w/o Barris?
America may have talent, but the proliferation of these shitty shows proves that America does not have taste.

In the words of Homer Simpson: "Boring"

Not one of those acts deserved a million dollars.

Well, now that ep 1 is in the books, and after I thought the show was going to be a brainless showing of losers, I have to say this...

That was the funniest thing I have seen on TV in a long long time. I was laughing out loud in a big way. Some of these "talents" are astoundingly mind-boggling.

The guy with the horns all over his unibomber jumpsuit...

The snapping guy...

The Blue Velvet... X! X! X!

I honestly thought this show was going to suck completely, but I thought it was so fucking funny that I was hurting after a while.

I am calling it now... these clips are going to be all over YouTube, and expect to be inundated with links in your email.

I am trying to remember more for a personal chuckle...

The juggler. That poor fucking loser. Before they hit a commercial break, they were showing the guy backstage practicing, and within the first 10 seconds , he biffed himself in the mouth with a baseball bat (which I was waiting for, and laughed aloud at the dumbery.) So the guy gets up on stage, starts whirling his wares, dropping everything he was juggling. And then he gets the 3 X's. Begs them to do his finale... WITH GIANT KNIVES!

And he pulled it off for 60 seconds. Weird, funny, hard not to look at. Like a car crash.

Plus, its got Michael Knight.

Couldn't agree more. This thing was so damn funny. Favorite was "Blue Velvet" not even making it past their intro. Also the nose whistle guy going off on the token Brit judge, Brandy and Hasselhoff.

I also found it funny that the Trampoline Jumping Slam Dunkers were laughing at other acts...when they were infact pretty much a one trick pony.

In this particular case, don't judge a book by it's cover, er, premise.

Meanwhile, good shows die.

Watched 10 minutes of this last night. Aesthetically, it's "American Idol" for addle-brained senior citizens.

It's summer. I'm not exactly sure what this is pre-empting.

I found Hasselhoff's enjoyment of the oldest male stripper a bit unsettling.
bobby badfingers was hysterical , i found his whole routine to be funny, from the dancing to the snapping , I didnt even watch the show , but my friends showed me a clip of him on you tube, and of course you tube has the pretty much the whole show there in clip fashion, this is a fucking funny show.

It's pre-empting outside time for Matt Goldberg.

lastnight was not as funny as the previous instalment. Although I loved the reaction to the Stripper dressed up as Snow White.

I also thought giving the Big Gay Russian a second chance was laughable.

And the way this is edited is really annoying, almost to the point of distraction.

Is this the thread about misleading titles?

Yep. And Master of Champions is That's Incredible w/o freaks.
I've settled on Rock Star: Supernova as the shitty summer reality show that I'm ashamed to watch, yet will watch anyway.
Hate this show but the contortionist shooting a bow & arrow with her feet had one fine ass. Damn.
This show is best watched with a DVR. You have to record, and FF through all the boring parts.

I do love how Hasslehoff pretty much gives everyone a chance, and the British judge "X's" out the majority of acts before they even do anything.
Dunno if anyone is still watching this. But I've caught bits and pieces here and there. The stripper dancing on KITT from Knight Rider was hilarious last night.

However what little credibility they might have had flew away when they put a Rapping Granny through to the finals.
Rapping Granny makes me feel ashamed to be watching television.
after watching it last night, i realized that this show is garbage.
The judges would rather give a million dollars to a few guys who tap dance, instead of the other acts?
The British dude is such an ass. BTW, you're not Simon Cowell, so stop trying to be an ass, you can't get away with it.
I loved it when the guy from the quick change act called him out. Their act is changing clothes, then mixed it up by having different clothes. Just like he said, a little girl sings, that is her act. Then she changes the song, that is her mixing it up. Now how is it different.
Yeah, I got some laughs out of the very first episode, now I can't sit thoguh more than 8 seconds of it. Quick-Change was REALLY REALLY damn impressive, though.
The Brit was right about the quick change artists, they are pretty much one note compared to the Magician that lost out to them tonight. He consistantly went bigger and better each time and he was damned good.

I like 'em both but the quick changers definatly got the sympathy vote from people who thought The Brit was too rough on them.

First of all Chuck Barris is a TV legend! That said, it tries to take itself more seriously than The Gong Show and also borrows from American Idol .

That's my only major beef against it. That's waaaay too much for just one act. They should give prizes every night including for the Weird and Wacky performers instead.

He returned for the Wild Card and didn't cry this time - LOL! And I also agree they need to improve on the editing.

I guess Rapping Granny was added for ratings since she's the only senior citizen in the finals. The stripper and KITT was indeed hilarious. KITT returned for an encore the next night with The Hoff and Hoffettes performing Jump In My Car.

Everyone trashing Piers is hilarious...almost because they don't want to hear it. But the Quick Change people are taking his critisism too hard. Almost to the point in which it makes the guy come off like a real ass.

Expect the winner to be one of the acts Piers trashed.
I missed the first 5 acts. I was surprised the Quick Chance act won the vote last week. I didnt see the last episode. Hope they win.
I think Piers is a pedophile, whats with the obsession with the yodeller?
The contestants and audience need to learn how to deal with honest criticism. Last night Piers was getting booed when he didn't even say much negative at all, like when he told Realis they were great but maybe could find some better music. That's all, and not only did he get booed, but Hasselhoff told them not to worry about Piers, like he'd horribly insulted them.

And yeah, the Quick Change guy needs to get some thicker skin. His defensive tough-guy thing makes him look really bad. Piers has a very valid point that every time they perform, they do the same things with the same props in the same order. Passing Zone does juggling every time, but they do it differently, keeping their act fresh.

Paul, I agree that the winner will be somebody that Piers didn't like.
So the winner was a musical act. One of the girl singers, and all the "variety" acts were out after the first cut.

It was good to see who should have been the winner of the whole show get another shot to preform last night (Nathan Burton the Magician.)

I'll stick with the show next season, but they have to cut down on the musical acts/singers. It just makes the show come out as the underaged American Idol.
Before the series even started, I knew that the winner would be some young girl singer.

I haven't seen much of the show, but at least that Quick-change couple didn't win. Doing a single ancient magic trick over and over and over and over again is not worth a million bucks.
I ditched this show after the first week or so, but caught the finale. I thought that Asian boy band was gonna win it.

Next season they should ban jugglers.

So, thanks America's Got Talent. Now I know the single most intolerable person on television, and it is Nick Cannon.
