Kurt Wimmer's Directorial Debut (NOT EQUILIBRIUM) on FX NOW!

Check it out, it's called One Tough Bastard / One Man's Justice... Brian Bosworth's family is getting murdered at the moment, and I hear MC Hammer is in the movie as well. Wimmer's come a long way, baby!

It's actually not that bad. It has some decent villians and some good moves by Bosworth. Not quite as good as Stone Cold, but a good little flick.

This is my favorite movie that depicts Bruce Payne playing softball.

Pretty bad in a standard cheap action movie sort of way.

I was actually suprised by how many Wimmer moments were in it. Seems like after this, though, he figured out that to make a movie that really suited him, he would need to write it as well as direct it. Let's just hope that he gets back into the more high-minded sci-fi of Equilibrium as opposed to the "throw every cliche in and see which one survives" of Ultraviolet.

Normally I change the channel every morning after Spin City and King of the Hill greet me into the waking world, but seeing Kurt Wimmer's name on the screen jarred me up and onto imdb.com to confirm that I wasn't getting names confused. A pretty surreal experience, actually. Too bad I had to leave for work before seeing the whole thing...

I was actually surprised to find out this movie wasn't some weird dream I had. The acting is laughable, the plot makes no sense on any level, the villain is an FBI agent who dresses like some drummer from a shitty 80's metal band, MC Hammer plays a drug czar(dead seriously), and weird dolphin noises pop up in inappropriate places. Certainly seems like a dream I would have and yet it is not. Saddened this movie didn't develop a Room like following. Tommy Wiseau doesn't have shit on The Boz.

Ha at this thread getting bumped, given that I didn't know it existed. A few months ago I stumbled across the movie so I watched it, and it was rather wacky, so at least I wasn't bored with it, but it's not high art even in the DTV action world.

Besides seeing MC Hammer play a Nino Brown-riff sort of character, and Boz being Boz, that Bruce Payne performance was rather amazing. Talk about acting... I'm not sure if you'd call it "good", "bad", or both, but that performance, with those long flowing locks... tremendous.

Apparently Vern reviewed this as well.  http://outlawvern.com/2006/06/01/one-tough-bastard/

I guess my next stop is Stone Cold.

Edit: Whoa check out the confrontation towards the end of this video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yH3g_7GLuo Acting!!

Double edit: For anyone on a Boz binge a few years from now that have found there way to this thread, I apologize that the above link might now work anymore.
