Love it. Looking forward to more.
Looks sharp. I'll link some friends to this.
NICE! The Chud logo in motion is cool to see.
Is it still too late to help out in some way?...other than financially
post #5 of 73
I have no sound here at work, but that camera you're using is making you guys look really good. The girls look good regardless.

Russ, Andrew, Dave, Steve, and my interviews were recorded after an all day drinking binge and the strenuous 4 hour rehearsal/readthrough. It was 4am East Coast time, which we were still on. We were wrecked. We look like Hades. But, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Or Jet Li.

That's Hugo in the clip?

Mr. Parlanchin, inspiration for Mr. Brainwalk, who will be puppeteered by Frank Langley, also known as Dr Ock's arms or the guy who made Team America brillianter.

Can't wait for this film to fuck my blood.
The splitfinger Hugo and Fuck Face baseball are my favorite parts of that tease. I can't wait till this gets off the ground. Best of luck with the financing.
A few questions:

What camera did you use to shoot this?

Are all your actors being paid?

Is everyone assosciated with chud chubby? :P
post #13 of 73
Pardon my ignorance, but what's an EPK?

this seems really cool.

I pray this gets made... I want to see a good baseball film.

because I unfortunately the last baseball movie I saw was battlefield baseball and that was easily the worst film I've ever seen ever. Not even Tak could save that film.
I have to admit, I haven't exactly been sold on this thing so far, but that was a fun little teaser, guys.
The El Chupacabra bit was really, really good. More!
Its too early to say much, but I like that its a lot weirder than your typical underdog sports movie.

It's not really a softball movie. Especially considering where the story goes after this one.
You're abusing your anticipation building power. How can you live up to this glorious entity that now lives inside my head?

Lots of doll-ass.

Uncommon Valor and Ilsa?

Something like that.
I hope Hanna Hall and Samantha Dickson are in it alot. Their personalities really jumped out. HH waving a beer around was funny.

It's going to bother me who Dave DAvis reminds me of. His look and tone of voice are so familiar.

And I thought this thing was shot already. Hope it gets made soon.

Thank you for being positive. Much appreciated. In short supply these days.
Funny stuff. Good luck with everything.
That last bit was solid, I await the end product
post #28 of 73
nice clip. Very professional looking. Can't say the subject matter exactly clicks with me because I can't stand Baseball, but the quirky nature of the whole thing gets me interested.

repeating some technical questions that haven't been answered:
What camera did you use to shoot this clip? What format did you shoot on? and finally who edited this clip?

because that person deserves a pat on the back.

The concept art looked great as well.

You're in luck. It seems softball would be our backdrop here.

The camera: Panasonic HVX-200, opped by our DP/cine, Dr. Ultimately

Format: P2 solid state card (4 Gb, I believe. Iain, correct me if I'm wrong)

Edited by our astute L.A. editorial staff, overseen by our LA producer, Jordan Albert.
Can't wait till thing starts shooting and fucks blood.
Good tease. Really professionally done too.

I wasn't expecting Nick to be so soft spoken for some reason. Could be due to the hangoverness/tiredness though.

I have more in common with a tender lover than Crazy Eddie on camera.

We used the HVX200 and just shot standard def so the guys could ramble on. For the key light I bounced a 650w fresnel into a 4x4 piece of beadboard. There's a 300w fresnel with 216 on a dimmer clamped to the bookshelf behind them for a backlight.

Ironically, I actually didn't get to shoot any of the interviews, except for the Hannah Hall/Josh Philips stuff.

We had this huge lighting setup in our living room and black duvetyne hanging from one of the bookshelves for about two weeks, and people just came in and interviewed when they had the time, which was mostly when I wasn't there.

Jordan edited the clip using his crazy FCP skillz.
This was put together really well. As someone who thought the art and concept was interesting, but not much else, it sold me on the project. I'd definitely see this now.
Wow, that was really nicely done. Excellent stuff. I hate that this isn't even filming yet. Good luck, guys.
If you're searching for a assistant editor/cameraman/grip/best boy/gopher/production prostitute when this actually does get filming, I'd love to apply for the job.
Why was I not informed there were ninja psychologists in this movie?!?
Dude...spoiler warning.
Curiosity is very mich piqued. Can't wait to see what you guys have come up with.
holy crap, it pretty much sounds like the best thing ever. Also now I have faces to associate with the voices on the podcast.

I would totaly buy an 11CA t-shirt with the logo on it, you guys should make those.
Edited to better serve my captains.
Don't go too crazy with the CafePress link yet. There's a different pressing of that in the works that will funnel more of the cash into the film, rather than CafePress coffers.

You have no fears of anyone ever going crazy with the Cafepress link. Or the Amazon link. Or the banner ads. Or...
good job guys.
you seem to now what ur doing and i for one hope it turns out great.
Good Luck you crazy bastards
Consider me teased. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

Should be making available some webisodes and stuff in the coming weeks, but we need to get as many people seeing this as possible.
I'm going to suggest something that you are probably already doing. Just in case. Shoot whatever you can now. If you have people in Atlanta who can shoot some of their scenes, if the director and dp just go out and shoot establishing shots, do whatever you can when you can. Even if you don't have your full budget yet it will get you guys started and get some footage in the can for promotional purposes.

I've done this with a feature I'm racing towards completion on...it really helped me creatively and to cushion the costs.

I agree! I personally can't wait to start shooting!

Honestly though, if all goes as planned we hopefully won't have to worry about pinching pennies as much as we first thought.
How much equipment do you guys have that is available? Are you having to rent any of this or do you actually already have all the hardware?
