I'm fairly positive we're going to be renting all of our gear for this, whether it be from a rental house or an individual. It's hard to say at this point. If I had my way, we'd be shooting HD on the Varicam with a 5-ton grip package.

But right now until we get the budget situation hammered out, it's going to be hard to present numbers to anyone.

Are you looking to telecine it to film for wide release? If not, what was wrong with the HVX? The varicam is super sweet. I'd love to shoot something with it, but no way I could afford the rental even for one of my shorts, much less a feature.

You guys gonna get a real audio crew? Thats the one other thing you really have to splurge on. Especially if you're doing motion or walking or what not.

What about foley?

You gonna have to do any ADR? Its been my experience that actors/actresses have to be pretty damn good to do convincing adr. Plus you gotta have a studio just for that.

I'm interested in your progress. I'm starting another short myself this month and its always both exciting, terrifying and exhausting.

The crew will be a professional Atlanta crew. (With the exception of Steve Murphy and the people we bring from LA.) We're working with top-notch post facilities. Since there's a big chunk of sports in this, ADR will almost certainly be part of the process.

I think we're all still reeling from the suggestion of featuring Lemmy from Motorhead.

Believe it or not, I've actually told various customers who rent Benchwarmers that my "good friend" is making a softball movie called 11 Colonials Attack! that blows Benchwarmers out of the water.

They never give a shit, but at least I'm getting the name out there.

My manager is having some meetings with studios this week. I just submitted a brand new draft which I think really cleans up some stuff and makes it a little better. Plus there's some new jokes I like. Oh, and I gave Matchstick a line about his bruised semen heading into space.

We need to make this on a larger budget because frankly, with the actors and FX people we have, we can't NOT use them.

The good thing is you have the acting and crew talent attached. This will give you guys a tiny step up when you show it to studios. The part against you is that it is an unusual concept. We know how studio execs generally react to that. Hopefully since you don't need 20 million to do this it won't be that big a deal.

This may be inaccurate and even a little insulting but I think Compost Larry looks a lot like a young Ted Danson, take it as you will. Surely there are more noble quests for whichever of you invented a time machine than trying to bolster Ted Danson's career, although if I try to think of any changes one could make without causing a time paradox, Ted Danson is a safe choice.
