Twilight Zone (2002)-Worth It?

So I'm browsing my import DVD supplier's website at work today, and come across all 43 episodes of the Forrest Whitaker incarnation of THE TWILIGHT ZONE for the pretty insane UK price of £9.99 delivered. I dig the classic TZ and am a big anthology fan in general, so with the ridiculously cheap price I'm considering the purchase. Trouble is, I've been hunting around the net for any kind of coherent discussion of the show, positive or negative, and can find next to nothing.

So, question for anyone and everyone: Is it worth the buy? What kinda quality level are we talking about here?

It was just okay. For the price, and the completionism, it's probably worth it, but it's a distant third in terms of the TZ revivals.

Kinda telling that the best episode in the series' run was composed of two remakes of old episodes (It's Still A Good Life, and The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street).

Admittedly, though, they did a really good job on both stories.

I'd say no. That's just from seeing the first two episodes.... it was garbage- predictable crap. Didn't really deserve having the Twilight Zone name attached to it.

There are some pretty terrible episodes. There's an episode about a gated community that kills bad kids and uses them for fertilizer for trees. Fucking awful.

The 2002 version is awful.

Stick with the original and the 80's version.

The remakes of the old episodes they did were good.

Definitely worth buying for that low price. It's deeply flawed, but pretty good fun sometimes. I find even the worst twilight zone episodes are watchable on some level.

I'd say no. The price is good but the quality is not.

The only episode I remember is the one where Titus is haunted by this spirit or something that fucks his life up. I don't remember the twist or the lesson or the moral - I just remember it was lame.

But I'd buy the set anyway. 48 episodes for that cheap? You're bound to find something you'll enjoy on it, and if not, you're only out $10 and it's obvious you have a curiosity in it, so yeah - buy it.
