Gamevideos.com has posted two videos showcasing some of the snazzy new possibilities of spies and mercs in the upcoming Splinter Cell: Double Agent.
The videos look pretty fantastic. They seem to have amped up the gameplay speed, which was much needed if you ask me. The spies seem to be more about athleticism than spy gadgets like the spy bullet or the tracer or the heartbeat monitor and what not (they were useless 90% of the time anyway). The graphics look pretty phenomenal as well. The mercs seem to have a bit more mobility as well, and have nice sounding guns. the ability to fast rope down ledges is welcomed as well. The remote drone looks like a fantastic idea as well, making all those vents no longer as safe as they used to be.
Also, the "spy ghosts" giving more direction to the spy is a great idea for beginners as well. Unless you had studied the maps extensively before jumping on XBL, they were too overwhelming.
I was excited about the single player, but the multiplayer behind Splinter Cell has always been the reason it warranted a purchase. After seeing these two vids, Ubisoft has already gotten my money.
