Huh? He and Kruk are amazing on there [baseball tonight] together. ANyone have more details?
Whaaa... seriously? Reynolds makes Baseball Tonight fun and interesting to watch.
Not surprising. He's horrible.
He's one of the few guys that actually knows about the sport he's reporting on.

That's sad.

Maybe he got caught with someone else's cocaine in his car like that other idiot that commentates for ESPN.

But did he piss on a cop?

Can't find anything about htis at all, but it does suck.
Woah. HR done on ESPN...baseball tonight just won't be the same.

He must have really fucked up for ESPN to have disappeared him right in the middle of the season.
No kidding. Man, what did he do?
Probably steriods.

Now that BBT is without Gammons and Reynolds I'll be watching with the volume muted.

Kruk? Philips? Please.
I can't believe Reynolds is so liked. He's all over the place and stutters like a prick.
No Gammons and Reynolds means 2 less guys to gush about the Red Sox and Yankees.

As to what would get him fired I would assume it's something he did at the office like sexual harassment. If it was substance abuse I would think they would give him a second chance. Got to be something bad that Kruck wouldn't stick up for him.
What the hell is this? i wanna know what happened cause HR was the man.
Gammons is loved by all, so that goes unsaid. Reynolds was the only guy I liked on Baseball Tonight. God, if they make Brantley a regular, I might just stop watching. He's terrible.

Yeah, but he's not as bad a Tino Martinez. Good God, he's a fucking abortion on that show.
somehow Brantley's mullet seems arrogant to me.

I liked Harold and am shocked by this, he actually explained some things about the game rather than ambiguously bullshit like most guys do.

He does suck, but I owe it more to inexperience and jitters. He could be fine in the long run, but he should test it out on a smaller stage. Maybe he could replace Bob Rathbun, the very worst baseball commentator ever created.

A-fucking'men on that point.

Mike Bell's impression of him is really funny, as are most of those 790 bits that involve Bob and the Hawks.

I can't tolerate Mike Bell.
Come on, you don't admire his ability to find the childishness in any situation?

Actually, I haven't listened to 790 in a while, since I got Satellie Radio--the mention of Bob's name made me think of Mike's impression of him.

Reynolds has a really likeable on-air personality, but that doesn't change the fact that he's not very good as an analyst (and that's taking into account how much better he's gotten since he started). The best purpose he served was as a sidekick to Kruk, who's probably the best ex-player analyst they have. They had a nice interplay and they disagreed as often as they agreed, which brought out the best in both of them.

Plus, without HR, who's Ravech going to make his little snide remarks to?

I do like HR, but I'm not sad to see him go.

The problem is who they're going to replace him with, because besides Kruk, they don't have anyone else who's any good. Martinez sucks (at least right now, and even though he might get better I'll never be able to tolerate his voice), Brantley's kind of a blowhard, Hershiser is GREAT but belongs in the play by play booth, Orestes Destrade is pretty good I guess but still has a ways to go.

Yeah, I agree with that. He's actually gotten a little better as the season has gone on. He was painful to watch for the first couple of weeks. He'll probably be decent by the time 2007 rolls around.
Gonna have to agree with the HR detractors. He was likeable but not that good of an analyst. Above all he was way too soft on steroids and any other baseball issues.

Brantley, Martinez good lord its amazing they are on ESPN and not Fox Sports Net.
It's got to be one of
a) sexual harassment
b) theft / padded expense accounts
or
c) planning to jump ship and getting caught. (See Ari Gold)

I'm not really a fan of HR, but I'm even less of a fan of the rest of the Red Sox/Yankee worshipping crew.
I wonder if he followed Trev Alberts' lead...
I challenge anyone to name a worse MLB news personality than Kevin Kennedy. Harold Reynolds was a tv demigod compared to that hack.

Deadspin.com is "reporting" that it was repeated sexual harrassment complaints.

He sexually harassed Peter Gammons.
Canned for harrassment. And his wife's busy raising a 6 month old.
Doh...this can only get worse for him.
Not shocking. ESPN is just covering it's own ass. Wonder when(if) a lawsuit will happen.

They need to bring in a Midwest/West Coast guy to replace him who isn't enamored with the Yank/Sox.
The Yankees/ Red SOx are the best thing about baseball so thats why they get the most coverage. Booyakasha!
I saw some dumb report where he got into an argument about how the BBT executives were handling the ARod thing.

I seriously doubt that's true, but if it is, that's ridiculous, and it makes it look like they were looking for an excuse to can him...

Possibly because of the harrassments!
