The highlight of the third "X-Men" movie's DVD debut: three alternative endings, each with optional commentary by director Brett Ratner. The single-disc DVD release also includes 10 deleted scenes; audio commentaries from Ratner, the writers and the producers; a preview of the upcoming Ben Stiller movie "A Night at the Museum;" and two hidden "Easter eggs," one of the Beast reciting Shakespeare and the other of the X-Jet landing in Washington.

Fox also is preparing a collector's edition that includes an exclusive 100-page commemorative book with an all-new story penned by Marvel Comics master Stan Lee. It is his first original Marvel Comics book in five years.

In addition, Fox is packaging all three "X-Men" movies into a trilogy pack.
Maybe Brett Ratner in his audio commentary will talk about the gaping continuity error when Magneto lifts up the Golden Gate during the daytime and in the next shot, when it lands, it's in complete darkness.

If ever there was a movie that I needed a 100 page book to help commemorate it would be X3. 100 pages too few if you ask me.

You know the sun was setting. It's not really an error.
In Clerks, the sun goes all the way down between them leaving the funeral home and arriving back at the Quick Stop.

There are so many other examples of sunset continuity errors that it isn't really worth calling this movie out.
It's worth calling it out for being crap though.
Yes, but the sun went from setting to total darkness in three seconds. Not to mention all the people that had been scared off the bridge, abandoning their vehicles conviently returned to turn their headlights on to help light the way.

Hey, who remembers when Ratner said that there was only one scene that got cut - the Magneto as Bin Laden bit?

And now look - magically, 10 deleted scenes and three alternate endings.

Weird.

It's skullduggery is what it is. Nefarious skullduggery.

Can't argue with that.

I never believed him anyway. I actually still think there's going to be an extended version further down the road.

"I actually did a shot where he was in that underground lair with the long beard, and he's sitting there, and Pyro [Aaron Stanford] comes in and says, 'They've announced a cure.' That's the one scene that's not in the movie that I shot."
Skullduggery indeed.

The 10 "deleted" scenes are probably just extended version of the ones already present. There was quite a bit of that on the first flick as well.
And the second.
Three alternate endings, though.
Halloween has a pretty jarring sunset continuity error as well.
Maybe that's three different Prof X isn't REALLY dead, and Magneto hasn't REALLY lost his powers endings, then.

One of the unused endings is where Scott Summers' atoms crawl up out of the lake and announce that they're doing fine.

Maybe they can explain why the body Patrick Stewart teleported/leapt/beamed into speaks with his voice, and looks like him, rather than the orginal person.

Dammit, that really cracked me up, probably more than it should've....

Oooh, A Night At The Museum!
My guess is that these "alternate endings" are the same ripoffs that most DVDs hype these days. Two extra frames, or just ending early, nothing that actually changes a thing, just something they can sell. It's not like this is going to be "To Live and Die in LA" or something.

Actually it doesnt look like him but yes this also bugged the hell out of me. Well the entire film did...but Stewart's voice especially!

I hope one of the new endings gives us the war we were promised, instead of Famke Jansen standing on a garbage heap.

This is one area in which I agree with Harry Knowles.

How so?

In his review, he said that it would have been so much better if, instead of cramming the Phoenix and the cure story together, that the movie should have focused more on the cure and only introduced the Phoenix as a set up for later movies.

That way, we could have gotten a true war and have hadd something to look forward to.
