Last.fm

Essentially it's a plugin which keeps a tally of songs you've listened to and creates an online database of your musical preferences which other people can see.

Here's mine

Anyone else use it?

It's pretty good for finding similar songs.

I was actually just going to make a thread, and suggest a CHUD group.

It's quite funny, I would never had guessed how much ambient music and OSTs I listened to until I started Last.fm

And joined. Now let's just see if we get more. I made a group for another site once....and it failed miserably.

Just doing one more bump as it would be nice to get a Chud playlist going. Lastfm has been one of those things which really opened my ears to new music, the ability to recommend and send song samples is fantastic and it also has a function where it can track down gigs occuring within a 30 mile radius (up to 3 months in advance) which you might be interested in (it determines this by your weekly played artists and it's proved quite accurate)

Also joined. Been using last.fm for a while now, so I've got some decent history built up. Check out what I've been listening to.

I used to use Last FM, but I diactivated it a while ago. It gives some pretty good recommendations and some unusual ones. Maybe I'll turn it on again and join you guys. I'd like to be introduced to some new music, but I probably have a few guilty pleasures that I don't want anyone to see.

I've been on Last.fm, formally called Audioscrobbler.com for the past few years. I've accumulated alot of stats. Alot has changed since this site started, I remember when every other day the site used to be down but since it has been Last.fm it has been steady and the features are amazing now. Especially the preview mode for artists.

EDIT: jesus, just spotted that my profile blurb references ye olde myspace page. That takes me back

Does last.fm scrobble stuff that you play on your iPod on the go, when you sync it? Cuz I never listen to music through my computer, but constantly through my iPod.

Yes.
