Wooden-Bat College Summer Ball

The D.C. suburbs have a wooden-bat summer league for college players looking to get scouted. The Cal Ripken, Sr. League runs a 2-month season, hosts baseball camps, and offers cheap seats and a relaxed atmosphere. At $5 for adults and kids free if they wear their Little League jerseys, the Bethesda Big Train has become our default destination on summer evenings.

Is this phenomenon unique to the D.C. area, or are there wooden-bat college leagues all over America?

Not entirely sure if it is scouted league but in my area there is a Wooden Bat Adult League that is invite only. You have to be invited by someone who sees you play in college or one of the adult leagues in the area. No I certainly was not invited. I couldn't hit Pakistan.
