No, I explained it and when I posted you had edited. That's all. Was just erasing the explanation in a "double post/nothing to see here" kinda way.

See, my boyfriend and I just watched "Deliverance" a couple of months ago, and for fun, I dug around and found all sorts of cool trivia about the movie. Which, since I didn't know I'd be coming back here, is a moot point, because this is the one place where everyone would already know all the cool stuff I found out about the film. Ahhh well - the one topic I could go on and on about that wouldn't make Devin mad, and everyone knows it already!

Of course, the weird thing is that back then, in 1972 - Jon Voight? So pretty. So very very pretty. When the hillbillies were talking about his "purty mouth", I couldn't help but agree. And see, that's where the hillbilly really messed up in a big way. He decided to screw Ned Beatty first, and never got around to screwing Jon Voight before Burt Reynolds killed him. I mean wouldn't you think that hillbilly rapists would have better planning skills? It's not that difficult. "Okay, let me fuck the really hot one first, just in case his buddy sneaks up from the trees and shoots an arrow right through me." The poor hillbilly, just unzipping his filthy, grime encrusted pants to screw the pretty one when ZING!, courtesy of Burt Reynolds. His last inbred, hillbilly thoughts were probably, "Never save the hot one for sloppy seconds." My assumption is that, given the lack of quality movie theaters in Appalachia back then, he probably never saw "Midnight Cowboy", and never realized what he was missing.

(Oh, and tomorrow bright and early, I'm headed out to visit the parents for the weekend. So I'm not angry and leaving again, or dead. Or out shooting hillbillies with a cross-bow. Although, in the Pine Barrens section of NJ, it's not unheard of to have hillbillies in the area. I could come back from the weekend covered in blood anyway!)

Oh, hey, welcome back Lisa.
Was just thinking the other day how cheerless things were without you.

Oh shit, where in the Pine Barrens?

First time that's ever been voiced in a Deliverance review? Possibly.

Perhaps the first time voiced, but I've thought the same thing.

Madam, I AM one of those hillbillies of which you speak. Since you'll likely be in my neck of the woods/Barrens, my kinfolk and I will honor your "Never save the hot one for sloppy seconds" suggestion and save the boyfriend for later (he's prob'ly good eatin' anyway). Since yous is friendly city-folk, we'll bypass the customary "squeal like a pig" for y'all.

Don't forget to say "Hi" to Lonnie!

About a year ago, for whatever reason, I wasn't able to get into the boards at work or at home. At home, the browser would just run and run and run, and never take me to the forums. At work, I'd log in and just get looped back around to the log-in screen again and again. They had just replaced my work computer, so that probably had something to do with it.

The log-in problems coincided with my big blow up with a couple of other posters in a fairly heated debate, so I figured at that point, that maybe my not being able to log in from home or from work was the universe's way of telling me to take an extended break before I busted some heads in that thread.

Anyway, I started lurking about a month ago, and only just found out I *could* log in again about a week ago, which was a surprise.

So I'd like to apologize for dropping out of touch with all Chewers just because I was angry at a couple of them - there was no need for me to get all butt-hurt at the entire board. My bad for just vanishing like that - while the biggest issues were log-in problems (and I sent a few messages via MySpace that I couldn't log in), it was bad form on my part.

Well this has made my weekend.

You've been missed terribly Lis darlin', I'm so glad you're back.

Welcome back to the boards, Lisa!

Never had anyone in my ignore list, but I`ll bite.
Apologies to anyone who I've offended or heckled, specially on political-religion themes.
Also, welcome back, Lisa!
I have a clear conscience, but im pretty sure that, while never an asshole, I wasnt exactly super nice either.
Can we have a group hug now?

You'll be happy to know that no hillbillies were harmed with a crossbow in the making of this weekend away! Back from Joisey - gotta go unpack, I'll catch up with you all later!

Since around August 3rd, I have been deeply sorry for picking on Ed Hocken's post count. Like, immensely remorseful. I hope we can put that behind us.
Don't fret, Phil. Your persistent cyberbullying led to his successful reformation.
I'm also sorry for picking on Cleo.
He means he's sorry for being so Cleopatranizing
post #173 of 200
This thread is great. It should be called "the remorseful drunks" thread.

Sorry to everyone I angered when I said Twitter was gay.
Picking Dead Birds as one of the best horror films ever should be Ill-Eagle. Still, all things considered, Cleo isn't bad at all.
Isn't Cleo like 17 and British? She should get points just for daring to post here.

EDIT: I have no idea why I factored in Britishness to that statement. Hungover.

Aw! I forgive you!

Hey, I too want to know the dental correctness of whoever I'm replying to.

Seems like bad teeth = liking Dead Birds. Interesting.

I know another chick who loves DEAD BIRDS. Maybe it's a chick thing.

I'm sorry for that misogynist remark.

No good chain smoking, Jerry Lewis loving, Canada hating, smoked meat eating, funny talking filthy fucking frog.

I'm sorry Martin. Let's be friends.

No.

There is too much. Let me sum up. Spike and Domingo left in a huff of butthurt but we love them in our own special way and they knew that so they came back. We have an XX version of fleed now. Avatar will either suck or rock. Nick's making movies in Australia with Troy N. And Millette is back, still funny as hell but more thoughtful.
Haha. Pretty good there, Ryan S.

So this is where Lisa's welcome back party happened and I missed it. Anyway, so glad to have you back, ma'am! I'm almost never on MySpace anymore, so I was wondering if you have a facebook page. Do ya?

I duzn't. Can't be bothered, ya see. Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are blocked here at my office, and I spend too much time online after work when I shouldn't anyway. The last thing I need is one more thing to distract me, so I don't have a Facebook or a Twitter account. I have this place, and a couple other message boards to keep me warm, and that's all I need. And that's it and that's the only thing I need, is this. I don't need this or this. Just this board. And the other board, the third board, and that's all I need. And my blackberry. This board, the second board, the third board, my blackberry, and that's all I need. And this eye makeup remover. This board, the second board, the third board, my blackberry, my eye makeup remover, and that's all I need. And my cat. This board, the second board, the third board, my blackberry, my eye makeup remover, and my cat. And that's all I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one - I need this. My pen - this board, the second board, the third board, my blackberry, my eye makeup remover, my cat, and this pen, and that's all I need.
Ha. Rep-worthy post there, Lisa. But of course I can't give it because it's gone. Perhaps we don't need it on account of all the boards and pens and makeup remover we've got between us.

To Brad,

I used to think you were an insufferable bitter douchebag. But I get it now. It all makes perfect sense.

With apologies,

To My Fellow Chewers,

Twice in the last 24 hours I let myself get dragged into idiotic discussions. I have no one to blame but myself. I am heartily sorry.

I will be punishing myslef by spending two hours in the talkbacks over at Ain't It Cool.

Me too, Brad. Although my apology is several years overdo, I'm nonetheless sorry for my greenhorn transgressions.

You rock, sir, and you are indeed necessary...
