The Twins have a much better track record of safeguarding their pitchers than, for example, the Cubs or Giants (look at Dusty Baker's track record sometime, he absolutely destroys young pitchers and closers). That being said, they've been riding Liriano awfully hard. Even when he's ready to come back, I'd have him go every sixth day or limit him to 75 pitches for a while.

I swear Dusty Baker is responsible for the recent rash of horse race injuries.
